Balally (), County Dublin, Ireland, is a townland and residential area between Dundrum village and the Sandyford Industrial Estate in Sandyford. Balally Parish itself reaches from Ardglas to the M50 motorway. The area is served by two primary schools (St. Olaf's National School and Queen of Angels) and two secondary schools (St. Tiernan's and Wesley College). Balally is part of the conurbation of Greater Dublin, in the council area of Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown. The area contains a Luas tram station, located near the southern entrance to the new Dundrum Town Centre. Name and location Balally townland is in the civil parish of Taney in the barony of Rathdown. The townland's Irish name, ''Baile Amhlaoibh'', derives from a reputed association with Olaf (''Amhlaoibh'' or "Olave"), the first king of Viking Dublin, who reputedly built a fort in the area. Balally Luas Stop
Balally ( ga, Baile Amhlaoibh) is a stop on the Luas light-rail tram system in Dún Laoghaire - Rathdown, south of Dublin, Ireland. It opened in 2004 as a stop on the Green Line and serves Dundrum Town Centre as well as the suburbs of Balally and Goatstown. The stop is located at the junction at the side of Overend Avenue. Location and access Balally is located in an open-air station box. On either side, the tracks run in cut and cover tunnels. To the northwest, they run under the Rockfield Central apartment block and Overend Avenue. To the southeast, the tracks run under an internal street and an office block. The northbound platform has a staircase and a lift which lead directly to the street. Dundrum Town Centre is a shopping centre located in Dundrum, Dublin, Ireland. It is Ireland's largest shopping centre with over 169 tenants, almost of floor space, and over 3,400 car parking spaces. Luas
Luas (pronounced ; Irish for "speed") is a tram/ light rail system in Dublin, Ireland. There are two main lines: the Green Line, which began operating on 30 June 2004, and the Red Line which opened on 26 September 2004. Since then, both lines have been extended and split into different branches further out of the city. The two lines, as of 2017, now intersect and connect within Dublin city centre. The system now has 67 stations and of revenue track, which in 2018 carried 41.8 million passengers, an increase of 11.2% compared to 2017. Broombridge Railway Station
Broombridge is a railway station beside a Luas Tram stop serving Cabra, Dublin 7, Ireland. It lies on the southern bank of the Royal Canal at the western end of what had been Liffey Junction station on the erstwhile Midland Great Western Railway (MGWR). It takes its name from Broome Bridge, which crosses the canal, where William Rowan Hamilton developed the mathematical notion of quaternions. Brides Glen ( ga, Gleann Bhríde) is a stop on the Luas light-rail tram system in Dún Laoghaire - Rathdown, south of Dublin, Ireland. It opened in 2010 as the terminus of an extension of the Green Line south from Sandyford. Location and access Brides Glen stop is located at the end of a concrete viaduct over an empty plot of land. The sole entrance is to the road which runs past the southern end of the stop. Ramps provide access from the entrance to each of the side platforms. The short space between the platforms and the road contains buffers, a flower bed, electrical substations, and toilet for Luas drivers. There is a double crossover on the tracks immediately to the north of the stop.
