Bairiya
Bairiya is a village which come under Khairahani Municipality, ward no. 13, in Chitwan in the Narayani Zone of south-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 2936 people living in 527 individual households. But it has increased due to more illiteracy. Most of the people are poor and under the line of poverty. The literacy rate has been also reduced. Chitwan District
Chitwan District (, , ) is one of 77 districts of Nepal, and takes up the southwestern corner of Bagmati Province. Bharatpur, largest city of Nepal after Kathmandu, is its administrative centre. It covers . In 2011 it had a population of 579,984 (279,087 male and 300,897 female) people. In 2021 it had a population of 722,168 (354,071 male and 368,097 female) people. Narayani Zone
Narayani ( ne, नारायणी अञ्चल) was one of the fourteen zones of Nepal until the restructuring of zones to Provinces, located in the central south of the country. The headquarter of Narayani zone was Hetauda. Narayani Zone is named after the Narayani River which is on the western border of the zone, separating it from the Gandaki and Lumbini zones. Narayani means beloved of Narayan which is Parvati his sister, and Narayan refers to Lord Vishnu (the preserver) in the Hindu religion. Geography Narayani contained parts of the Terai, Inner Terai, and Hill regions of Nepal, but it did not contain any of the Mountain or Himalayan region. Narayani is rich in flora and fauna. Nepal Standard Time (NPT) is the time zone for Nepal. 1991 Nepal Census
The 1991 Nepal census was a widespread national census conducted by the Nepal Central Bureau of Statistics. Working with Nepal's Village Development Committees at a district level, they recorded data from all the main towns and villages of each district of the country. The data included statistics on population size, households, sex and age distribution, place of birth, residence characteristics, literacy, marital status, religion, language spoken, caste/ethnic group, economically active population, education, number of children, employment status, and occupation. Digital Himalaya
The Digital Himalaya project was established in December 2000 by Mark Turin, Alan Macfarlane, Sara Shneiderman, and Sarah Harrison. The project's principal goal is to collect and preserve historical multimedia materials relating to the Himalaya, such as photographs, recordings, and journals, and make those resources available over the internet and offline, on external storage media. The project team have digitized older ethnographic collections and data sets that were deteriorating in their analogue formats, so as to protect them from deterioration and make them available and accessible to originating communities in the Himalayan region and a global community of scholars. Sauraha
Sauraha is a village of Ratnanagar Municipality in Chitwan District and Chitwan Valley, in Bagmati Province of southern Nepal. Geography The village is the eastern gateway to the nearby and large Chitwan National Park, that protects part of the Terai-Duar savanna and grasslands ecoregion. It is near the East Rapti River, and east of Narayangarh city. Beginning literally as a small and quaint village of daub huts, houses and hotels, it has grown into a small town with hotels, resorts, restaurants, internet cafes, and gift shops. Travel Sauraha has good road access for private-rental vehicles. By air Air connections to Sauraha are through Bharatpur Airport, with regular daily air services from Pokhara and Kathmandu.
