Baird Ministry (2015–2017)
The Second Baird ministry was the 95th ministry of the Government of New South Wales, and was led by Mike Baird, the state's 44th Premier. It is the second and subsequent of two occasions when Baird served as Premier. The Liberal–National coalition ministry was formed following the 2015 state election where the Baird government was re-elected. Composition of ministry Baird announced his ministry on 1 April 2015 and the ministry was sworn in on 2 April 2015 at Government House by the Governor of New South Wales David Hurley. The only change to the ministry was the resignation of Troy Grant as Deputy Premier in November 2016 following the loss of the Orange state by-election. John Barilaro replaced him as Leader of the National Party and Deputy Premier. Government House, Sydney
The Government House is the heritage-listed vice-regal residence of the governor of New South Wales, Australia, located on Conservatorium Road in the Sydney central business district adjacent to the Royal Botanic Garden, overlooking Sydney Harbour, just south of the Sydney Opera House. Constructed between 1837 and 1843, the property has been the vice-regal residence of the Governor since Sir George Gipps, except for two brief periods; the first between 1901 and 1914, when the property was leased to the Commonwealth of Australia as the residence of the Governor-General of Australia, and the second from 1996 to 2011. The property was returned as the Governor's residence in October 2011 and was managed by the Historic Houses Trust of New South Wales from March 1996 to December 2013. Minister For Racing (New South Wales)
The New South Wales Minister for Hospitality and Racing is a minister in the Government of New South Wales with responsibilities for the oversight of hospitality and for racing in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Role and responsibilities Racing became a portfolio for the first time in the Unsworth ministry. The minister was responsible for regulating bookmakers and the control of greyhound, trotting and horse racing, racecourse development and the management of the NSW Totalisator Agency Board. With the establishment of the Sydney Harbour Casino in 1995, the portfolio included the Casino Control Board. Minister For The Arts (New South Wales)
The Minister for the Arts is a Minister of the Crown in the New South Wales Government who has responsibilities for the administration and support for the arts in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The portfolio was abolished in 2019 and merged into the portfolio of Minister for the Public Service and Employee Relations, Aboriginal Affairs, and the Arts; and reinstated in December 2021. The Minister of Justice, subsequently Minister for Justice, was a ministry in the administration of New South Wales, established in 1880 in the third ministry of Henry Parkes and abolished in 2017. The position supports the Attorney General and was sometimes, although not always, held concurrently with that office. Minister For Western Sydney
The Minister for Western Sydney is a minister in the New South Wales Government with responsibility for the Greater Western Sydney, Australia. It was first established in 1997 in the second Carr ministry as an assistant minister, before becoming a separate portfolio in the third Carr ministry. The portfolio was only intermittently responsible for any legislation, nor tasked with the management of a department. The region is not defined, although generally consistent with Greater Western Sydney the portfolio has on occasion been responsible for areas outside that region, such as the Sydney Olympic Park. In the second Perrottet ministry the portfolio is responsible for the Western Parkland City Authority, which includes the region around the Western Sydney Airport. Gladys Berejiklian
Gladys Berejiklian (born 22 September 1970) is an Australian former politician who served as the 45th premier of New South Wales and the leader of the New South Wales division of the Liberal Party from 2017 to 2021. Berejiklian became a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly after winning the electoral district of Willoughby in the 2003 state election. She was given the roles of Treasurer and Minister for Industrial Relations in the second Baird government, and Minister for Transport in the O'Farrell and first Baird governments. She was also the deputy leader of the New South Wales Liberal Party between 2014 and 2017. She assumed the role of premier after Mike Baird's resignation in January 2017. 2016 Orange State By-election
A by-election for the seat of Orange in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly was held on 12 November 2016. The by-election was triggered by the resignation of Nationals MP Andrew Gee on 6 May to contest the division of Calare at the 2016 federal election. The by-election was won by Philip Donato of the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party—the first seat won by the party in a state lower house.
