Baffa
Baffa ( ur, Pashto :بفه ) is a town, a union council and capital of Tehsil Baffa Pakhal of Mansehra District in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It lies about 15 km north of the district capital, Mansehra. History Baffa may date back to or prior to Sikh rule. It was given the status of a municipality in 1873 during British rule as a principal market town in Northern Hazara and of the neighbouring independent tracts. In 1901, the population was 7,029. A vernacular middle school was maintained by the municipality and the District board. Baffa remained the educational hub for the Pakkhal valley, Konsh valley and Siran Valley because of the accommodation facility (hostel) attached to the Government Higher Secondary School there. At that time, this was the only high school for these three big valleys. Mansehra District
Mansehra District is a district in Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. It was established as a district in 1976, prior to which it was a tehsil within the former Hazara District. Two former subdivisions of Mansehra were split off into separate districts: Battagram in 1993, and Torghar District (formerly known as Kala Dhaka) in 2011. Demographics At the time of the 2017 census the district had a population of 1,555,742, of which 771,976 were males and 783,509 females. Rural population was 1,410,844 (90.69%) while the urban population was 144,898 (9.31%). The literacy rate was 62.56% - the male literacy rate was 75.25% while the female literacy rate was 50.41%. 427 people in the district were from religious minorities. Swati (Pashtun Tribe)
Swatis (Urdu: سواتی, Pashto: سواتي) are a Pashtun tribe, mostly inhabiting the Hazara Division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. They are mostly agricultural and are the biggest land owning tribe in the districts of Mansehra and Batagram (Feudal Tanawal excluded). Swatis are divided into four major tribal clans: Gabri (گبری), Mitravi (متراوی), Mumyaali (ممیالی) and Toar (ٹوڑ). Some of them speak Hindko in towns like Mansehra, Balakot, Naran, Kaghan and Garhi Habibullah while majority of them speak Pashto as a mother tongue. Their code of conduct and customs are similar to Pashtunwali, and are called Swatiwali. Swatis are sometimes referred to as Suwadis and Servatis.
