Bad Ronald was a rap-rock band from New York City who released their self-titled debut album in 2001. Their first single, "Let's Begin", was briefly on MTV's rotation and featured in the film ''Not Another Teen Movie''. Their second single, "1st Time", was featured in the 2002 movie ''Orange County''. The band achieved little success in spite of their promotion with MTV. The group formed in 1999 after working shows in New York City. The group was named after former Crazy Town member Brandon Calabro's dog Kal El Bad Ronald Santeria. The group wanted "to form a band that combined rap, pop, rock, and sophomoric humor." Rap rock is a fusion genre that fuses vocal and instrumental elements of hip hop with various forms of rock. Rap rock's most popular subgenres include rap metal and rapcore, which include heavy metal and hardcore punk-oriented influences, respectively. David Kahne is an American record producer, musician, composer, and former record company executive. Professional career Kahne started his musical career as a working musician and soon became Director of A&R for America's first punk and new wave record label, San Francisco's 415 Records; a position he operated out of a closet-sized office upstairs at The Automatt recording studio. He did artist development and in-house production and engineering there for 415 and continued to produce records for artists on the 415 label when he left Automatt to accept a position in Los Angeles as vice president of A&R for Columbia Records.
