Baccio Maria Bacci
Baccio Maria Bacci (1888 - 1974) was an Italian painter of the Tuscan Novocento movement. He also published various books on contemporary art movements. Biography He was born in Florence, he traveled to Paris in 1908. He returned to Florence in 1910 and exhibited with Giovanni Costetti, gaining the encouragement of Emilio Cecchi, Thomas Neal, and Matteo Marangoni. Emilio Cecchi
Emilio Cecchi (14 July 1884 – 5 September 1966) was an Italian literary critic, art critic and screenwriter. One English language source describes him as "an 'official' - although radically anti-academic - intellectual". He was made artistic director at Cines Studios, Italy's leading film company, in 1931, remaining in the post for slightly more than a year. He also directed two short documentaries in the late 1940s. Matteo Marangoni
Matteo Marangoni (12 July 1876 – 1 June 1958) was an Italian art historian, art critic and composer. Marangoni's art criticism aimed at identifying pure figurative values, in which an artwork's poetic values are identified. His books are positively influenced by the school of Benedetto Croce and Heinrich Wölfflin, clarifying their concepts on the basis of observation and following logic as a science of pure concept. Life Born in Florence, Italy, to Maria Augusta Malvisi and her physics-teacher husband Carlo Marangoni, he took his secondary school diploma in 1896 but did not continue with his studies straight away, instead moving to London to indulge his passion for music. Futurism ( it, Futurismo, link=no) was an artistic and social movement that originated in Italy, and to a lesser extent in other countries, in the early 20th century. It emphasized dynamism, speed, technology, youth, violence, and objects such as the car, the airplane, and the industrial city.
