Baby In Vain
Baby in Vain was an all-girl rock trio from Denmark consisting of Lola Hammerich, Benedicte Pierleoni and Andrea Thuesen. The band was formed in 2010 and their music can be described as grunge, blues and indie-inspired guitar-based noise rock. Baby in Vain toured as warm-up act for The Floor Is Made Of Lava in the fall of 2012 and performed at the Pavilion Junior Stage at the 2013 Roskilde Festival. Baby In Vain played a 2014 version of 90s stoner rock and grunge, with heavy guitar riffs and screeching vocals, but still draws in references from sludge and heavy metal. In 2017 they released their debut album More Nothing. They received mentions from Mojo Magazine’s Kieron Tyler, Vice and Intro Magazine. They've supported Ty Segall and guitar icon Thurston Moore's band Chelsea Light Moving, and have toured Europe extensively. Grunge
Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is an alternative rock genre and subculture that emerged during the in the American Pacific Northwest state of Washington, particularly in Seattle and nearby towns. Grunge fuses elements of punk rock and heavy metal, but without punk's structure and speed. The genre featured the distorted electric guitar sound used in both genres, although some bands performed with more emphasis on one or the other. Like these genres, grunge typically uses electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals. Grunge also incorporates influences from indie rock bands such as Sonic Youth. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. The Floor Is Made Of Lava is a Danish rock musical ensemble, band, formed in 2006. The band consists of Tobias Kippenberger (vocals), Simon Visti (bass), Lars Rock (guitar) and Ace (drums). In 2007 they had their debut, with the album ''All Juice No Fruit'', which was produced by Troels Abrahamsen of Veto (band), Veto. In 2010 they released their second album ''Howl at the Moon'', which was produced by Sebastion Wolff of Kellermensch. The band have primarily played concerts in Denmark. Roskilde Festival
The Roskilde Festival is a Danish music festival held annually south of Roskilde. It is one of the largest music festivals in Europe and the largest in the Nordic countries. It was created in 1971 by two high school students and a promoter. In 1972, the festival was taken over by the Roskilde Foundation, which has since run the festival as a non-profit organization for development and support of music, culture and humanism. In 2014, the Roskilde Foundation provided festival participants with the opportunity to nominate and vote upon which organizations should receive funds raised by the festival. Partisan Records
Partisan Records is an independent record label with offices in London and Los Angeles, as well as in New York City, where the company was co-founded in 2007 by Tim Putnam and Ian Wheeler. The label, initially run out of Putnam’s South Brooklyn apartment, relocated in 2009 to their flagship office in Williamsburg where they still reside. Holy Sons (‘Decline Of The West’) was the first release on the label, and early success followed shortly thereafter with the release of Deer Tick (‘War Elephant’).
