Baavra Mann
''Baavra Mann'' is a documentary film on the Indian filmmaker Sudhir Mishra directed by Jaideep Varma. Though ostensibly a biographical film, it is equally a portrait of the decline of the Indian creative and intellectual scene as touched by Sudhir Mishra's life, especially with regard to Sagar University, the theatre scene in Delhi and the film culture of Mumbai. The film was begun and completed as a part-time film project through 2010 to 2013. The film's production house was called Saturday Films because the majority of the work used to happen on Saturdays. In 2013 the film was taken over by Films Division, India, who is the official producer. Jaideep Varma
Jaideep Varma is an Indian writer, screenwriter and filmmaker. He has made 5 feature films – ''Hulla'' (2008, fiction), ''Leaving Home – the Life & Music of Indian Ocean'' (2010, non-fiction), '' Baavra Mann – a Film on Sudhir Mishra & Other Indian Realities'' (2013, non fiction)., I Am Offended! (2015, non fiction) and Par Ek Din (2017, non fiction). The last three films were made part-time, and therefore on a limited scale. In 2013, "Hulla" was included in a book on unsung Mumbai cinema classics over 50 years, a book called "40 Retakes" by Avijit Ghosh. ''Leaving Home'' was the first documentary in the history of Indian cinema to release nationally in theatres. Sudhir Mishra
Sudhir Mishra (born 22 January 1959) is an Indian film director and screenwriter known for directing the films ''Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi'', ''Dharavi (film), Dharavi'' and ''Chameli (film), Chameli''. Mishra has had a 30-year career, with his work recognised by the Government of India with three National Awards from the president of India, as well as Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French government. Early life and background Sudhir Mishra was born and raised in Lucknow. He is the grandson of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dwarka Prasad Mishra.
