BRICS Games
BRICS Games 2021 is going to be organised by India, which will be aligned with the Khelo India Games scheduled for the same year. This announcement was made by the Indian Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Kiren Rijiju at the meeting of Sports Ministers of the BRICS nations. India holds the chairmanship of the five-nation independent international group in 2021. The games will be held during the same time and at the same venues as of Khelo India Games 2021 will have the benefit of witnessing BRICS Games from close quarters. Khelo India Youth Games
Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG), formerly Khelo India School Games (KISG), are the annual national level multidisciplinary grassroot games in India held in January or February for two categories, namely under-17 years school students and under-21 college students. Kiren Rijiju
Kiren Rijiju (born 19 November 1971) is an Indian politician from Arunachal Pradesh who serves as the Cabinet Minister of Law and Justice in the Government of India. Early life Rijiju was born on 19 November 1971 at Nakhu near Nafra in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh in India. He is the son of Rinchin Kharu and Chirai Rijiju. His father was the first pro-tem speaker of Arunachal Pradesh who gave oath to the Members of the First State Legislative Assembly. BRICS is an acronym for five leading emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. BRICS Universities League is a consortium of leading research universities from BRICS countries including Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Initiated at Fudan University, Shanghai on July 6, 2013, the League aims to become a platform for academic and expert cooperation, comparative research, and international educational projects. In October 2015, around 40 outstanding universities from the five BRICS countries gathered in Beijing Normal University, Beijing to hold the BRICS Universities Presidents Forum. After this Forum, the participating universities declared the Beijing Consensus, and they decided to establish the BRICS Universities League. BRICS Cable
The BRICS Cable is a planned optical fibre submarine communications cable system that carries telecommunications between the BRICS countries, specifically Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The cable was announced in 2012 but was still under construction as of 2015. The project aims to provide bandwidth around the Southern Hemisphere of the globe, and to "ensure that developing nations’ communications are not all in the hands of the nations of the North". The cable is approximately long, and contains a 2-fibre pair with a 12.8 Tbit/s capacity. The cable will be the third-longest cable in the world by the time of its completion. It will interconnect with the WACS cable on the West coast of Africa, and the EASSy and SEACOM cables on the East coast of the continent.
