The Bulgarian National Television (Bulgarian: Българска национална телевизия, ''Balgarska natsionalna televizia'') or BNT (БНТ), stylized as ·Б·Н·Т· since 2018, is a public television broadcaster of Bulgaria. BNT was founded in 1959 and started broadcasting on December 26 of the same year. It was the first television service to broadcast on the territory of Bulgaria. BNT is a member of International Radio and Television Organisation (to 31 December 1992), European Broadcasting Union (from 1 January 1993), EGTA, IMZ, CIRCOM Regional, FIAT and BBLF. History The first broadcast of the first Bulgarian television was in 1959. The archive had recorders, photos and movies which were for the public in the end of the 1950s and beginning of 1960s. BNT 2
BNT 2 () is a Bulgarian-language public television station, operated by the Bulgarian National Television. It is the successor to the defunct second program of the national television - Efir 2. Launched on October 16, 2011, the channel replaced the five regional television centers of BNT - BNT Pirin, BNT More, BNT Sever, BNT Plovdiv and BNT Sofia by combining their programs into one. Until 2018, BNT 2 broadcasts original programs, newscasts and sporting events. The program includes a "regional programming bloc" with local opt-out broadcasts from BNT's regional television centers. BNT 1 () is a Bulgarian-language public television station founded in 1959. It began broadcasting on December 26 the same year. The headquarters are located in Sofia, Bulgaria. BNT 1 is run by the Bulgarian National Television. History When it was initially launched, the channel was called simply ''Bulgarian Television'' (''Българска телевизия''), as it was the only channel available. BNT 3
BNT 3 (, previously BNT HD) is a Bulgarian-language public television station, operated by the Bulgarian National Television. It broadcasts sport events, movies and cultural programs. History It was launched on February 6, 2014 as "BNT HD", with the start of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games. Beforehand BNT used to air sports events such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the London 2012 Olympics in HD on temporary HD channels which used to upscale the BNT 1 channel. Emil Koshlukov
Emil Iliev Koshlukov ( bg, Емил Илиев Кошлуков; born 26 October 1965) is a Bulgarian journalist, media manager and former politician. Life Born in Pazardzhik, Koshlukov graduated from the English language high school in Plovdiv in 1985 and subsequently studied English philology at Sofia University. Between 1991 and 1996, he was also enrolled as a political science student at the University of California in Santa Barbara. In 1989, he was one of the leading figures behind the formation of the first independent student organizations in communist Bulgaria and participated in civil disobedience campaigns against the government. After being affiliated with the UDF in the early 1990s, in 2001 Koshlukov was elected to the National Parliament for the first time as part of NDSV. Test Card
A test card, also known as a test pattern or start-up/closedown test, is a television test signal, typically broadcast at times when the transmitter is active but no program is being broadcast (often at sign-on and sign-off). Used since the earliest TV broadcasts, test cards were originally physical cards at which a television camera was pointed, allowing for simple adjustments of picture quality. Such cards are still often used for calibration, alignment, and matching of cameras and camcorders. From the 1950s, test card images were built into monoscope tubes which freed up the use of TV cameras which would otherwise have to be rotated to continuously broadcast physical test cards during downtime hours. Ruse (also transliterated as Rousse, Russe; bg, Русе ) is the fifth largest city in Bulgaria.
