BMG Poland
BMG Poland Sp. z o.o., was a Polish subsidiary of BMG founded in 1993 in Warsaw. In 1996 BMG Poland purchased independent label Zic Zac owned by musician Marek Kościkiewicz of De Mono. At the time Zic Zac had 10% share on Polish music market with such artists in their roster as Kayah, Urszula Kasprzak, Andrzej Piaseczny, Formacja Nieżywych Schabuff, Elektryczne Gitary, and Varius Manx among others. Kościkiewicz became BMG Poland CEO, while Zic Zac was reformed to labels subsidiary. In 2001 label opened subsidiary Sissy Records with such artists as Andrzej Smolik, Cool Kids of Death, Futro, Jacek Lachowicz, Lenny Valentino, Novika, Old Time Radio and Ścianka in catalogue. BMG Poland bestselling artists included Liroy and Varius Manx among others, with several albums certified Gold and Platinum in Poland. Bertelsmann Music Group
Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) was a division of a German media company Bertelsmann before its completion of sale of the majority of its assets to Sony Corporation of America on 1 October 2008. Although it was established in 1987, the music company was formed as RCA/Ariola International in 1985 as a joint venture to combine the music label activities of RCA's RCA Records division and Bertelsmann's Ariola Records and its associated labels which include Arista Records. Artur Gadowski (born 1 June 1967) is a Polish musician, vocalist of a rock band IRA. Biography Gadowski comes from a musical family. His father played the saxophone whereas his mother was a vocal instructor. His life's turning point happened in 1979 when he first heard The Beatles' album titled '' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'', which formed his musical style for a long time afterwards. Beginnings and career with IRA In 1985, he established his first amateur music band together with his schoolmates, ''Kurcze blade'', dissolved after merely a year. Then in 1986 he co-founded another band, ''Landrynki dla dziewczynki'', in which Gadowski initially played the guitar but he later replaced the vocalist of the group who had been called up. EMI Music Poland Sp. z o.o., was a Polish subsidiary of EMI Group Limited, it was founded in 1995 in Warsaw. Labels CEO was Piotr Kabaj. The label was founded in 1995 when EMI bought independent record label Kompania Muzyczna Pomaton (founded 1990). The purchase included rights for recordings by such artists as Tadeusz Woźniak, Jacek Wójcicki, Przemysław Gintrowski, Wolna Grupa Bukowina and Magda Umer among others. In 2012 EMI was sold to Universal Music Group. The European Union required UMG to sell several owned labels to other parties, including Parlophone and EMI Music Poland, with Warner Music Group buying most of those labels in 2013. EMI Music Poland was then renamed Parlophone Music Poland. In 2014 Parlophone Music Poland was merged with Warner Music Poland. Szymon Wydra
Szymon Wydra (; born March 11, 1976 in Radom) is a Polish rock vocalist, poet and finalist on the first edition of Polish ''Idol''. He is also a vocalist of Carpe Diem. Career Wydra's first music band, ''Nadzieja'' (''Hope''), existed for two years and played punk rock. He has been vocalist and leader of his own band, Szymon Wydra & Carpe Diem, since 1992. He took part in a popular Polish TV show '' Szansa na sukces'' (''Chance for success'') in 2001 and achieved respect but was not the winner. He performed again in the same show in February of the following year, singing a song by Ryszard Rynkowski and being chosen by him as the winning participant. On December 13, 2002, his band released their first album, entitled ''Teraz wiem'' (''Now I know''). Their second album, ''Bezczas'' was released in 2005. Robert Janson
Robert Janson (born June 7, 1965 in Czeladź) is a Polish composer, singer, guitarist, leader and co-founder of pop band Varius Manx. He is a member of Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry. In 1989, Robert Janson formed Varius Manx with the Marciniak brothers, Michał and Paweł. After Anita Lipnicka joined and the album ''Emu'' was released in 1994, the group became famous in Poland.
