''Newsbeat'' is the BBC's radio news programme broadcast on Radio 1, 1Xtra and Asian Network. The fifteen-minute ''Newsbeat'' programme is broadcast at 12:45 and 17:45 during the week on Radio 1, 1Xtra and Asian Network. Short bulletins are also heard throughout the day on three stations on the half-hour with extra bulletins broadcast at peak times.

Radio Academy Awards
The Radio Academy Awards, started in 1983, were the most prestigious awards in the British radio industry. For most of their existence, they were run by ZAFER Associates, but in latter years were brought under the control of The Radio Academy. The awards were generally referred to by the name of their first sponsor, Sony, as The Sony Awards, The Sony Radio Awards or variations. In August 2013, Sony announced the end of its sponsorship agreement with The Radio Academy after 32 years. Consequently, the awards were named simply ''The Radio Academy Awards''. In November 2014, it was announced that The Radio Academy would not be holding the awards in 2015, and would be looking for other ways to recognise achievement in the future. Dominic Byrne
Dominic Anthony Byrne (born 10 November 1972) is a British newsreader and presenter. He currently works on the Chris Moyles Breakfast show on Radio X, having previously worked as the newsreader for Capital London on the Capital FM Breakfast Show. Prior to this he worked with the BBC from 1997 to 2012, most notably as part of the on-air team on ''The Chris Moyles Show'' on BBC Radio 1 from 2004 to 2012, working as the newsreader and contributing to the show's zoo format. Byrne worked as a newsreader elsewhere on Radio 1, and presented on the BBC News Channel. He runs his own voice training business called Open Mouth Productions. Eleanor Oldroyd
Eleanor Oldroyd (born in Bury, Lancashire, 2 June 1962) is a British sports broadcaster with BBC Radio. Early life Oldroyd was educated at Oxford High School and Girton College at Cambridge University. Broadcasting career Beginning her career in commercial radio, Oldroyd joined BBC Radio Shropshire as a Sports Producer in 1986 before moving to London in 1988. Christopher Smith is an English radio newsreader. He is most famous for presenting ''Newsbeat'' on BBC Radio 1 and co-hosting the '' That's What He Said'' podcast alongside Greg James. Early life Smith was born in Kettering, England and grew up in Raunds, where he was a Bus Prefect. ''Radio 1 Breakfast'' is a radio show that is broadcast across the UK on BBC Radio 1. It is hosted by Greg James since 20 August 2018 as the show's 16th presenter.
