Bangladesh Model United Nations (BANMUN) is a Model United Nations conference organized by United Nations Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB). UNYSAB organizes the conference with a view to promoting the idea of Model United Nations among the students from different institutions of Bangladesh. Model United Nations (also known as Model UN or simply MUN) is an educational simulation that focuses on civics, communications, and multilateral diplomacy. During a Model United Nations conference, students take on roles as foreign diplomats and participate in a simulated session of an intergovernmental organization (IGO). United International University (UIU) is a private university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The government of Bangladesh approved the establishment of United International University in 2003. Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. At a MUN conference, students work as the representative of a country, organization, or person, and must solve a problem with other delegates from around the world. MUN teaches participants skills like research, public speaking, debating, and writing, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. While Model UN is typically used as an extracurricular activity, some schools also offer it as a class.
