BC Avtodor (russian: БК «Автодор» Саратов), commonly known as simply Avtodor and internationally as Avtodor Saratov, is a Russian professional basketball club based in Saratov. It plays in the FIBA Europe Cup and in the VTB United League, the highest level of Russian basketball. In early 2022, after the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Americans D. J. Funderburk and Grant Jerrett and Canadians Kenny Chery and Philip Scrubb left the team. 2014–15 EuroChallenge
The 2014–15 EuroChallenge was the 12th and last edition of Europe's third-tier level transnational competition for men's professional basketball clubs. The winner and the runner-up of this competition earned a place at the group stage of next year's Eurocup season. The regular season was composed by 32 teams and it started on 4 November 2014. The season ended on 26 April 2015, when JSF Nanterre beat Trabzonspor Medical Park 63–64 in the Final in Trabzon, Turkey. It was the last season of the EuroChallenge, starting from the 2015–16 season, the competition was replaced by the FIBA Europe Cup. The 1997–98 FIBA EuroCup was the thirty-second edition of FIBA's 2nd-tier level European-wide professional club basketball competition. it occurred between September 16, 1997, and April 14, 1998. Courtney Fortson
Courtney Fortson (born May 23, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for Spójnia Stargard of the Polish Basketball League (PLK). He played college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks. High school Fortson attended Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, Alabama, where he was named Mr. Basketball by the Alabama Sports Writers Association in 2007. Kenny Chery
Kenny Fred Chery (born January 24, 1992) is a Canadian professional basketball player for Petkim Spor of the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). He competed with State Fair Community College and then Baylor at the collegiate level. Early years Chery was born in Montreal, Quebec to Haitian parents in a household where Creole was spoken only, while he learned French in school. Growing up, Chery played hockey but gradually switched to basketball as he participated in basketball leagues as a teenager around Montreal. FIBA Europe Cup
The FIBA Europe Cup (FEC) is an annual professional club basketball competition organised by FIBA for eligible European clubs. It is FIBA's European-wide second level. Clubs mainly qualify for the competition based on their performance in national leagues and cup competitions, although this is not the sole deciding factor. The league was founded in 2015 as a replacement of the FIBA EuroChallenge. History On June 30, 2015, FIBA announced it would start a new league to compete with Euroleague Basketball's EuroCup. The new competition, which replaced EuroChallenge, was supposed to be open for up to 100 teams to enter. Philip Alexander Scrubb (born November 27, 1992) is a Canadian–British professional basketball player for Monbus Obradoiro of the Liga ACB. He is a 6'4½" (1.94 m) tall guard. During his college basketball career, he won five CIS championships with the Carleton University Ravens, before embarking on a professional career. Vladimir Veremeenko (born July 21, 1984) is a Belarusian professional basketball player who last played for Tsmoki-Minsk of the VTB United League. Professional career The son of professional basketball players, Veremeenko was an early bloomer as he started his career with local side Gomel aged 15, playing in the 1999–00 Korać Cup before making the Belarusian league All-Star Game the next season. Grant Alexander Jerrett (born July 8, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Utsunomiya Brex of the Japanese B.League. He played college basketball for the University of Arizona. Early life Jerrett was born to Lamont and Barbara Jerrett on July 8, 1993, in Costa Mesa, California. He attended Lutheran High School in La Verne, California.
