Auburn Warriors
The Auburn Warriors Rugby League Football Club were an Australian rugby league football club based in Auburn, New South Wales formed in 1953. They played in the NSW Ron Massey Cup competition and in Sydney's A-Grade competitions. 2017 In The 2017 Ron Massey Cup season, Auburn qualified for their first grand final in the competition. On 24 September, Auburn played against Wentworthville in the final and lost the match 38-4. 2018 On 14 February 2018, it was revealed that Auburn Warriors Rugby League Club had been forced to fold due to a failed sponsorship deal involving former deputy Auburn mayor Salim Mehajer. Lidcombe Oval
Lidcombe Oval is a playing field and velodrome in the Western Sydney suburb of Lidcombe. It is part of Wyatt Park. It is situated in the Western side of Church Street, on the northern side of the railway line. The outfield has a capacity of more than 20,000 spectators. The infield is used mainly for football matches of various codes. The velodrome hosts track cycling events and has been the home of Lidcombe-Auburn Cycle Club since 1947, and Neo Cycling Club since 2015. Ground & Track Use Rugby League In the NSWRL competition, the ground was home of the Western Suburbs Magpies rugby league team from 1967 to 1986, before the club moved to Campbelltown Stadium in 1987. Wests Tigers
The Wests Tigers are an Australian professional Rugby league, rugby league football team, based in the Inner West and South West Sydney. They have competed in the National Rugby League since being formed at the end of the 1999 NRL season as a joint-venture club between the Balmain Tigers and the Western Suburbs Magpies. The Wests Tigers started playing in the 2000 NRL season and they won their maiden premiership in 2005 NRL season, 2005. It is one of only two clubs (the other being the Newcastle Knights) that has never lost a Grand Final in which it has participated. Omar Slaimankhel
Omar Slaimankhel (born 4 March 1992) is a New Zealand former professional rugby footballer who last played rugby league for Western Suburbs in the Ron Massey Cup. Slaimankhel previously played in the National Rugby League for the New Zealand Warriors before switching to rugby union and playing for Japanese team, Canon Eagles. Early life Slaimankhel was born in Pakistan to Afghan refugees. When he was two years old his family moved to New Zealand. Slaimankhel grew up playing rugby union until he switched codes to join the New Zealand Warriors rugby league development side. He played in the first XV for Auckland Grammar School, where he was also a track athlete and weightlifter. Heka Nanai (born 15 August 1988) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s and 2010s for Canterbury-Bankstown. Nanai played on the wing or in the centres. Early years Nanai was a graduate of Westfields Sports High School located in Fairfield West. The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in Belmore, a suburb in the Canterbury-Bankstown region of Sydney. Darren Maroon (born 4 May 1966) is a former Lebanon international rugby league footballer who represented Lebanon at the 2000 World Cup. Background Maroon was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Playing career Maroon started his career with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, playing in 52 games between 1987 and 1992. He then spent 1993 with the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, but played only one match in first-grade before returning to the South Sydney club.
