Aubagne Tramway
The Aubagne tramway ( French: ''Tramway d'Aubagne'') is a tram system in Aubagne, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France. Comprising a single line called Line T serving 7 stations, it was inaugurated on 1 September 2014 and does not charge fares. Since 27 August 2017, the operation and maintenance of the Aubagne tramway has been entrusted to the Régie des transports métropolitains (RTM) of Marseille, via its transport subsidiary of Pays de l'Étoile. A northern extension from Aubagne station to La Bouilladisse is scheduled to open by 2025; it will bring the line's number of stations to 17. History and profile In 1997 ''La Provence'' was created in Marseille from the merger of two daily newspapers, '' Le Provençal'' of former Interior Minister Gaston Defferre and the '' Le Méridional'' of shipowner and congressman, Jean Alfred Fraissinet. Auriol, Bouches-du-Rhône
Auriol (; oc, Auriòu) is a commune in the Huveaune valley in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of Southern France. In 2017, it had a population of 11,908. Its inhabitants are known as ''Auriolais'' or ''Auriolaises''. The commune has been awarded one flower by the National Council of Towns and Villages in Bloom in the Competition of cities and villages in Bloom. Located west of Roquevaire and northwest of Aubagne, it will be served by two stations of the Aubagne tramway when the northern Line T extension opens in 2023. Geography Auriol is located some 22 km east by north-east of Marseille and 10 km north by north-east of Aubagne. Roquevaire (; oc, Ròcavaira) is a commune in the Huveaune valley between Aubagne and Auriol in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of Southern France. La Bouilladisse (; oc, Bolhadissa) is a commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of Southern France. In 2017, it had a population of 6,194. Geography A small residential town of forestry, farming and a little light industry situated in the valley of the small river Merlançon, some northeast of Marseille at the junction of the D8 with the D45e and D96 roads.
