Ataköy Athletics Arena ( tr, Ataköy Atletizm Salonu), is an indoor sporting arena for track and field athletics events located in Ataköy, Istanbul, Turkey. Construction The venue was constructed special for the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships to be held on March 9–11, 2012. It is situated next to the Sinan Erdem Dome, where the training activities are being held. The arena will be the first indoor athletics venue of the country as such. In the Istanbul bid for the 2020 Summer Olympics, this venue has been discussed to hold judo and taekwondo events. The building is long, wide and high, covering an area of . Ataköy, Bakırköy
Ataköy is a quarter of Bakırköy district in Istanbul Province, Turkey. It was developed as one of the first examples of satellite-city projects in Turkey. Ataköy is located in Bakırköy district on the European side of Istanbul. It is adjacent to Bahçelievler district and Şirinevler neighborhood. The area in the then outskirt of Istanbul City, which Ataköy today covers, belonged to the Turkish military, and was called Baruthane (literally: gunpowder magazine). In the 1950s, the government of Prime Minister Adnan Menderes (in office (1950–1960) transferred the property to the state-owned realty business bank Emlak Bank for envelopment as a satellite city of affordable housing for middle income households. In 1956, the project started with the construction of a beach site. The residence area was named "Ataköy" (literally " Atatürkville"). Aspire Dome
The Aspire Dome is an indoor multi-purpose arena based in Qatar. It is located in the Aspire Academy in Doha and has the capacity to host 13 different sporting events simultaneously in a climate controlled arena, in addition to a full-sized indoor football pitch. 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships will be held from 2 to 5 March 2023 at the Ataköy Athletics Arena in Istanbul, Turkey, the first time the event has taken place in this country although the venue did stage the 2012 World Indoor Championships. The four-day competition will be held during the centenary year of the Republic of Turkey, and will feature 13 men's and 13 women's athletics events over three morning and four afternoon sessions. Apeldoorn
Apeldoorn (; Dutch Low Saxon: ) is a municipality and city in the province of Gelderland in the centre of the Netherlands. It is located about 60 km east of Utrecht, 60 km west of Enschede, 25 km north of Arnhem and 35 km south of Zwolle. The Omnisport Apeldoorn, also known as the Omnisportcentrum or simply called Omnisport, is a velodrome and multisport indoor arena in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. Designed by FaulknerBrowns Architects the facility opened in 2008, it is divided into two halls: a cycling hall containing cycling track and athletics track, and a volleyball hall. The cycling hall has a capacity for 5,000 spectators and the volleyball hall for 2,000. The complex has been operated by Libéma since 2012. Arena Toruń is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena in Toruń, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. It is home to Twarde Pierniki Toruń of the Polish Basketball League (PLK). It was officially opened on 10 August 2014. History In 2010, the general project of the venue was presented by a consortium of DEDECO and MD Polska companies. Construction of the building commenced in 2011. It is located in Chełmińskie Przedmieście, the western part of the city. The total cost of the venue reached 158 million PLN. The building's dimensions are 162.25 meters (length), 97.10 meters (width) and 20 meters (height). Arena Toruń was opened on 10 August 2014. Since 2015, the venue has been hosting the Copernicus Cup, an IAAF World Indoor Tour meeting. The venue also hosted the 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships from 4 to 7 March 2021.
