Club Athletico Albion, C. A. Albion or simply CA Albion was a Brazilian football club based in São Paulo. The club won one Campeonato Paulista First Division in 1933 and three Second Division titles, before being dissolved in 1936. History Founded in 1921 as "Associação Athletica São Paulo Alpargatas", the name of the company where most of the team's players worked ( São Paulo Alpargatas), and, in 1932, chose to change its name to "Club Athletico Albion", and acted as such until 1936, when the club abandoned the Campeonato Paulista during the dispute and was dissolved. Their colors were red, blue and white. His main uniform was tricolor with narrow parallel vertical stripes, white shorts. It is currently extinct. In 2021, the club had recognized the title of state champion, won in 1933. However, nothing remains of the club nowadays. 1933 Campeonato Paulista
The 1933 Campeonato Paulista was the 32nd season of São Paulo's top association football league. Two championships were disputed that season, each by a different league. On that year, the professionalism controversy flared up again, as in Rio de Janeiro, the ''Liga Carioca de Football'' was formed as a professional football league, in opposition to AMEA (Associação Metropolitana de Esportes Atléticos), which didn't allow professionalism. The national federation, CBD, took AMEA's side and refused to allow professionalism. As a consequence, in São Paulo, the state federation, APEA, which accepted professionalist practices since 1926, broke with CBD, and joined LCF to form the FBF (Federação Brasileira de Football). They usually have a canvas or cotton fabric upper and a flexible sole made of esparto rope. The esparto rope sole is the defining characteristic of an espadrille; the uppers vary widely in style. Espadrilles are a typical form of summer footwear, with strong historical ties to the regions of Catalonia, Aragon, and the Basque Country. The word derives from the Catalan "espardenya" and refers to esparto grass, a plant indigenous to the south of Spain that is used to make ropes and basketry.
