Espadrilles (Spanish: ''alpargatas or esparteñas''; Catalan: ''espardenyes''; Basque: ''espartinak'') are casual, rope-soled, flat but sometimes high-heeled shoes. The Catalan Countries ( ca, països catalans, , ) refers to those territories where the Catalan language is spoken.
