Assesse () is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Namur, Belgium. On 1 January 2006, Assesse had a total population of 6,252. The total area is 78.16 km² which gives a population density of 80 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Assesse, Courrière, Crupet, Florée, Maillen, Sart-Bernard, and Sorinne-la-Longue. The village of Crupet is noted for its grotto dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, the Crupet Castle, a moated medieval ''donjon'', and its windmills. Courrière
Courrière ( wa, Côrire) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Assesse, located in the province of Namur, Belgium. Until 1977, it was an independent municipality. Courrière is located at the junction of two major roads, the A4/E411 and the N4, and consists of the compact central village, Petit-Courrière, and a large hamlet, Trieu d'Avillon, which are separated from each other by the roads. Courrière has been an independent parish from the 18th century. Georges Gilkinet (born 25 January 1971) is a Belgian green politician of Ecolo, and as of 1 October 2020, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mobility and the National Railway Company in the cabinet of Alexander De Croo. Biography George Gilkinet was born on 25 January 1971 in Assesse in the Namur Province of Belgium. He graduated from ''Institut des hautes études des communications sociales'' in Brussels, and was a sports journalist for Canal C for 15 years. In 2007, Gilkinet was first elected to the Chamber of Representatives for Ecolo. He specialized in finances, and between 2012 and 2014 was the Chairman of the Finance Commission. In 2011, the criminal investigation in the Belgian part of the Kazakhgate affair was closed after the suspects agreed to pay a fine of €522,500 each. Profondeville (; wa, Parfondveye) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Namur, Belgium. On January 1, 2016, Profondeville had a total population of 12,117. The total area of the municipality is and the population density is 240.70 inhabitants per km². Ciney (; wa, Cînè) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Namur, Belgium. As of 2018, Ciney had a total population of 16,439. The total area is 147.56 km² which gives a population density of 111 inhabitants per km². Hamois
Hamois (; wa, Hamwè) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Namur, Belgium. The village is around south-east of the city of Namur. On 1 January 2020 the municipality had 7,375 inhabitants. The total area is 76.42 km2, giving a population density of 96.5 inhabitants per km2. The municipality consists of the following districts: Achet, Emptinne, Hamois, Mohiville, Natoye, Schaltin, and Scy. Mouffrin Castle in Gemenne and Ry Castle are both in Hamois, and continue to be in the possession of the noble Aspremont-Lynden family. Multiple other castles, still owned and inhabited by other noble families, are spread all over the municipality.
