Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship
The Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship is an annual amateur golf tournament. It is played at various locations throughout Asia-Pacific. It is organized by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) and was first played in 2009. It was organized in conjunction with the Masters Tournament and The R&A, organizers of The Open Championship. The winner receives an invitation to the Masters and The Open Championship (beginning in 2018). The winner and runner-up had previously gained entry to International Final Qualifying for the Open from 2009 to 2017. In 2011, the winner also receives an invitation to the Asian Tour's season ending Thailand Golf Championship. It is also considered an "elite" event by the World Amateur Golf Ranking in that any player that makes the cut is eligible to be ranked. Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation
The Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation, known by the abbreviation APGC, is an Asia-Pacific federation of national golf associations. The APGC organizes the major international amateur championships in the region and promotes golf. History The organization has its beginnings in 1962 during the Eisenhower Trophy in Kawana, Japan, when a tri-nation tournament between the Philippines, Japan and Chinese Taipei was proposed. The inaugural Asian Amateur Golf Team Championship was held 1963 in the Philippines, with a trophy donated by Shun Nomura that became known as the Nomura Cup, and the Amateur Golf Confederation of Asia was formed. The R&A started to help the APGC in 2002 when they offered to provide financial support for running the Nomura Cup. Curtis Luck
Curtis Luck (born 9 August 1996) is an Australian professional golfer from Cottesloe, Western Australia. In March 2017 he became the number one ranked amateur golfer in the world, heading the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He held that ranking before turning professional in April. Golf career Luck was runner-up at the 2014 Australian Amateur. He also won the 2016 Western Australian Open on the PGA Tour of Australasia. Luck won the 2016 U.S. Amateur. He had previously planned to turn professional in October 2016, but decided to wait in order to retain his invitations in the 2017 Masters, U.S. Open and Open Championship. The Royal Wellington Golf Club, (formerly Wellington Golf Club) founded in 1895, is one of New Zealand's most beautiful and historic golf courses. The Golf Club is situated in Heretaunga, Upper Hutt, just north of Wellington and alongside the Hutt River between Silverstream and Trentham. Andy Zhang
Andy Zhang (born 14 December 1997) is a Chinese professional golfer who spent much of his childhood in Beijing, China. He first became interested in golf at age six, and began working with a coach at age seven. At the age of ten, he moved to Bradenton, Florida in the United States to pursue golf. After professional golfer Paul Casey withdrew from the 2012 U.S. Open due to an injury, Zhang, who became an alternate after performing well in sectional qualifying, was put into the field for the Open, one of the four men's major golf championships. Sheshan Golf Club () is the first premier private golf club in Shanghai, China. Lin Yuxin (born 12 October 2000) is a Chinese professional golfer. Aged 17, he qualified directly for both the 2018 Masters and the 2018 Open Championship as the 2017 Asia-Pacific Amateur champion.
