As Long As We Keep Moving
''As Long As We Keep Moving'' is an album and film of a live studio session conducted by British indie rock band Maxïmo Park. It was released in March 2019 through their own Daylighting imprint as well as Cooking Vinyl. Paul Smith commented that one reason for creating the package was to capture the energy of the songs' live arrangements in contrast to the studio setting, as it had been a long time since their last official live film release. It also marks the departure of founding member and keyboardist Lukas Wooller, who left the band coinciding the release campaign. Release Originally planned for release on 22 February, the recording was released in March both as a standalone CD and as a 2-disc CD/DVD hardback book package with several pages of photographs with psychedelic treatments in keeping with the editing style of the video. Maxïmo Park are an English alternative rock band, formed in 2000 in Newcastle upon Tyne. The band consists of Paul Smith (vocals), Duncan Lloyd (guitar), and Tom English (drums). ''Risk To Exist'' is the sixth studio album by British indie rock band Maxïmo Park. It was released on 21 April 2017 through their own Daylighting imprint as well as Cooking Vinyl. The album's lead single was first aired on the Steve Lamacq show on BBC 6 Music on 19 January 2017. Background and recording On 14 October 2016, guitarist Duncan Lloyd announced that recording was almost complete on the band's sixth album, then untitled. Writing for the album took place primarily in the UK while recording took place at Wilco's The Loft studio in Chicago through Autumn 2016. The album was produced by Tom Schick, whose previous work includes Wilco, Beck and White Denim and was recorded entirely live. Nature Always Wins
''Nature Always Wins'' is the seventh studio album by English indie rock band Maxïmo Park. It was released on 26 February 2021 and reached number two on the UK Albums Chart, putting it level with '' Our Earthly Pleasures'' (2007) as the band's highest-charting album. The album was received positively by music critics, who compared it favourably to the band's early albums. Composition The album was produced during the COVID-19 pandemic and was Maxïmo Park's first as a trio, following the departure of keyboardist Lukas Wooller. Wooller had moved to Australia with his wife. The album was produced by Atlanta-based producer Ben H. Allen, who collaborated remotely with the Newcastle upon Tyne-based band during the pandemic. Duncan Lloyd
Duncan Lloyd is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. He is the lead songwriter and backing vocalist for Maxïmo Park. He also works as a solo artist releasing albums on Warp Records (U.K.), Crash Symbols (U.S.) and is currently on Reveal Records. Working under the name, 'Decade in Exile' as well as his own name, he is also in experimental band Res Band from Derby and alternative rock band Nano Kino. Paul Smith (born 13 March 1979) is an English singer and songwriter. He is best known as the leader singer of indie rock band Maxïmo Park. Biography Born in Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees, Smith is the eldest of three children, and was educated at Northfield School. He attended Newcastle University completing a BA and MA, studying Art History and English Linguistics, following a 1-year Foundation Studies course at Cleveland College of Art and Design in Hartlepool. He briefly worked as an art teacher at Stockton Riverside College before he was asked to join Maxïmo Park. In 2014 Smith teamed up with Field Music singer Peter Brewis to record an album, ''Frozen by Sight'', derived from his travel writing and featuring string arrangements by Brewis.
