Arwyn Davies
Arwyn Davies (born 8 April 1967) is a Welsh actor, best known for playing the character of Mark Jones since 1993 on the long-running Welsh-language soap ''Pobol y Cwm''. Arwyn Davies's father was the Welsh comedian, actor, musician, singer, and composer Ryan Davies, who died when Arwyn was nine years old. Davies was nominated for a BAFTA Cymru 'Best Actor' award in 1996. ''Pobol y Cwm'' (''People of the Valley''; ) is a Welsh-language soap opera produced by the BBC since October 1974. The longest-running television soap opera produced by the BBC, ''Pobol y Cwm'' was originally transmitted on BBC One Wales and later transferred to the Welsh-language station S4C when it opened in November 1982. Ryan Davies
Ryan Davies (22 January 1937 – 22 April 1977) was a Welsh comedian, actor, musician, singer, and songwriter. Though his career lasted just 11 years, he became widely known in Wales through his work with Ronnie Williams as the comedic double act Ryan and Ronnie. Early life Davies was born in Glanamman on 22 January 1937. He was educated in Bangor and at London's Central School of Speech and Drama. Career Davies' first professional appearance was in the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Aberavon in 1966. His talents were quickly recognised by BBC Wales, and he made his name on Welsh-language television shows such as the sitcom ''Fo a Fe''.
