Arsenie Todiraș
Arsenie Todiraș (sometimes spelt ''Toderaș'', also iterated ''Arseni Ivanovici Todiraș'' after the former Soviet and modern Russian form of the name) (born 22 July 1983 in Chișinău) is a Moldovan singer, best known for representing Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. He grew up in Moldova with his mother, father and younger sister. He was once the youngest member of former boyband O-Zone. He now pursues a solo career in Russia and Romania, under the mononym Arsenie or at times the stage name Arsenium. Arsenie represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with the song " Loca" (Crazy in Spanish) with Natalia Gordienco featuring Connect-R, finishing in 20th place with 22 points. He took part in the '' Dansez pentru tine'' dance contest, the Romanian version of ''Dancing with the Stars'', and took the second place, while the first was given to the Romanian singer Andra. Natalia Gordienko ( uk, Наталія Гордієнко, also spelled Gordienco; born 11 December 1987) is a Moldovan singer and dancer. Alongside Arsenium and Connect-R, she represented Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with the song " Loca" and placed 20th. She was selected to represent Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song "Prison"; however, the 2020 contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, she represented Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song " Sugar" and placed 13th with 115 points. Moldova participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with the song "Loca" written by Arsenium. The song was performed by Arsenium and Natalia Gordienko featuring Connect-R. The Moldovan broadcaster TeleRadio-Moldova (TRM) organised the national final ''O melodie pentru Europa 2006'' in order to select the Moldovan entry for the 2006 contest in Athens, Greece. An initial 40 entries competed to represent Moldova in Athens, with 13 being shortlisted to participate in the televised national final which took place on 25 February 2006. The combination of votes from a jury panel and a public televote resulted in a tie that was not resolved, and therefore a second final took place on 15 March 2006 with five entries participating. Moldova debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song "Boonika bate doba" written by Mihai Gîncu and Roman Iagupov. The song was performed by the band Zdob și Zdub. Zdob și Zdub (; , onomatopoeic for the sound of a drum beat) is a Moldovan folk punk band, based in Chișinău. ''DiscO-Zone'' is the third and final album by the Moldovan band O-Zone. It was first released on June 6, 2004, in multiple countries throughout Europe. Produced by the band, the album features their hit singles " Dragostea Din Tei (Words of Love)" and " Despre Tine (About You)". It was a commercial success in many European countries, particularly in Portugal where it hit number one for eight consecutive weeks and was in the top 30 for 26 weeks, and it also reached the top ten in Wallonia, Belgium, Poland, Norway, Switzerland, and Finland.
