The group was founded in 1999 by vocalist Beth Ditto, guitarist Brace Paine and drummer Kathy Mendonca while attending Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. The Irish Singles Chart is the Republic of Ireland's music industry standard singles popularity chart issued weekly by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and compiled on their behalf by the Official Charts Company. Chart rankings are based on sales, which are compiled through over-the-counter retail data captured electronically each day from retailers' EPOS systems. "Listen Up!" is a song by American indie rock band Gossip, released in July 2006 from their third studio album, '' Standing in the Way of Control'' (2006). It was re-released in 2007, peaking at number 39 on the UK Singles Chart during this second run. The "Tronik Youth" remix was included on the nightclub Cream's compilation ''Cream Summer 2007''. Video There are two versions of this music video. In the original version, directed by Morgen Dye, Beth Ditto is eating a pizza in response to jibes about her weight and several young people dancing to the track. "Standing in the Way of Control" is a single by American indie rock band Gossip from the album of the same name. The remix by Le Tigre was released in 2005, the original was then released as a single in 2006, and was re-released again on February 26, 2007. The 2006 issue had climbed up to number 13 on the UK Singles Chart in early 2007 on download sales, but the 2007 re-release was under a new catalogue number, meaning that their six-place climb to number seven on March 4 was listed as a new entry rather than as a climber. But it reached the top spot in the UK Indie Chart for one week. The Soulwax Nite Versions remix of the song featured heavily in the advertising campaign for the 2007 E4 television drama, '' Skins''. This version is also on the series' soundtrack album. Kim Gordon, bassist of Sonic Youth, contributed the cover art for the single.
