The Argentina men national roller hockey team is the national team side of Argentina at international roller hockey. It is part of FIRS Roller Hockey World Cup and CSP Copa America. In men Argentina won 5 World Cups and the only roller hockey tournament in the Olympic Games history, Barcelona 1992, and the women of Argentina won five World Cups. 2019 Roller Hockey World Cup
The 2019 Men's Roller Hockey World Cup was the 44th edition of the Roller Hockey World Cup, organised by World Skate. The tournament was held in Spain, in the city of Barcelona, as part of the 2019 World Roller Games. Competition format Teams qualified to the three cups by their continental tournaments. Finally, eight teams composed the World Championship (first tier) and the Intercontinental Championship (second tier), while twelve teams composed the Challenger's Championship. Teams were divided into groups of four teams for composing the group stage. The two last qualified teams of the World Championship and the two group winners of the Intercontinental Championship faced in a playoff where the two winners played the knockout stage of the World Cup. FIRS Roller Hockey World Cup
The World Skate Roller Hockey World Cup is the international championship for roller hockey organized by World Skate. The first event was held in 1936, in the city of Stuttgart. Since 1989, the World Championship tournament is held every two years on the odd years. Until 2017, it was organized by the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports. As of 2019, following the merge between the FIRS and the International Skateboarding Federation, the World Cup is now an event of the larger World Roller Games. Through the 2019 World Cup, only five countries have taken the Roller Hockey World Cup: England winning two times, Portugal winning sixteen times, Spain winning seventeen times, Italy winning four times and Argentina winning five times. Since the 2003 World Cup all events have been 16-team events, featuring a four group round-robin tournament with four teams in each group. Roller Hockey (quad)
Roller hockey (in British English), rink hockey (in American English) or quad hockey is a team sport played on roller skates. It is the only quad skate team sport in existence where two teams face-off against one another at the same time. Two teams try to drive a hard ball with their sticks into the opposing teams' goalnet. Each team has five players on the rink at a time, four of whom are skaters and one who is the goalkeeper. The ball can only be put in motion by a stick, not the skate, otherwise a foul will be stated. The game has two 25-minute halves, with 15-minute halftime intermission, plus up to two 5-minute golden goal (a.k.a. "sudden death") periods to settle ties with the clock stopping when the ball becomes dead. If the tie persists, a penalty shootout will determine the winner. 2017 FIRS Men's Roller Hockey World Cup
The 2017 FIRS Men's Roller Hockey World Cup was the 43rd edition of the Roller Hockey World Cup, organised by the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS). The tournament was held for the first time in China, in the city of Nanjing, from 3 to 9 September 2017, as part of the 2017 World Roller Games. Spain won his 17th title, defeating Portugal, who returned to the final, after an eleven years absence, in penalties. Competition format During the previous edition of the World Cup, the FIRS determined to end with the celebration of two different tournaments for divisions A and B, and merged all competitions in a whole event integrated in the World Roller Games. The 2007 Rink Hockey World Championship was the 38th edition of the Rink Hockey World Championship, being held between 16 and 23 June 2007, in Montreux, Switzerland. It was disputed by 16 countries and it watched Spain achieving his 13th title, after an 8–1 win over Switzerland, in the final. The event marked the first time Switzerland reached the final of the most important international roller hockey competition.
