Arcane Astral Aeons
''Arcane Astral Aeons'' is the ninth studio album by Norwegian gothic metal band Sirenia. It was released on 26 October 2018 through Napalm Records. A lyric video was made for the single "Love Like Cyanide" released on 21 September 2018. The song features a guest appearance by Yannis Papadopoulos from Finnish band Beast In Black. On October 12, "Into the Night" was released as the second single along followed by a music video on October 19. Both videos were directed by Swedish filmmaker and musician Owe Lingvall. Background ''Arcane Astral Aeons'' was composed by Morten Veland at the beginning of 2018, during the break of an intense North American tour that Sirenia finished in April. On August 14, album details were revealed; basically, is the same production and engineering of their predecessor work ''Dim Days of Dolor'' (2016). Sirenia (band)
Sirenia is a Norwegian gothic metal band from Stavanger, founded in 2001 by Morten Veland. The band uses melodic instrumentals, synthesizers, and distorted guitars with female vocals, male death vocals, clean male vocals, a choir, and violins. The lyrics are concerned with human existence, emotion, and mental states. Emmanuelle Zoldan
Emmanuelle Zoldan (born 18 June 1977) is a French opera singer, best known for her work as a session musician in heavy metal bands as Sirenia, Trail of Tears and Turisas, among others. She is currently the vocalist of Sirenia. Career Zoldan is an operatic mezzo-soprano singer. She has combined her musical activities in the most diverse genres, singing in several operas in France for many years and worked simultaneously with some heavy metal bands and other personal projects. Two of her most notable appearances were in Trail of Tears's '' Existentia'' (2007) and Turisas's ''Battle Metal'' (2004), where she was the main female vocalist. On 8 September 2016, Norwegian gothic metal band Sirenia announced that Zoldan is their new official vocalist, replacing Spanish singer Ailyn Gimenez. Ribe
Ribe () is a town in south-west Jutland, Denmark, with a population of 8,257 (2022). It is the seat of the Diocese of Ribe covering southwestern Jutland. Until 1 January 2007, Ribe was the seat of both a surrounding Ribe Municipality, municipality and Ribe County, county. It is now part of the enlarged Esbjerg Municipality in the Region of Southern Denmark. History The town was a center of commercial activity in the early 8th century, and this may have originated with royal influence. Coins may have been struck there in 720. Tau is a village in Strand municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located on the shore of the Horgefjorden, a branch of the main Boknafjorden. Gothic Metal
Gothic metal (or goth metal) is a fusion genre combining the aggression of heavy metal with the dark atmospheres of gothic rock. The music of gothic metal is diverse with bands known to adopt the gothic approach to different styles of heavy metal music. The genre originated during the early 1990s in the United Kingdom originally as an outgrowth of death-doom, a fusion of death metal and doom metal. Lyrics are generally dark and introspective with inspiration from gothic fiction as well as personal experiences. Pioneers of gothic metal include Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride and Anathema, all from the north of England.
