''Aquel Que Había Muerto'' (''That One Who Had Died'') is the fourth studio album released by Puerto Rican singer Vico C released on December 1, 1998. It was his first album to be released under EMI Latin label. Recorded after a near-faltar overdose in 1997 and later rehabilitation in Orlando on a envagelic-christian church, strong social conscience lyrics, it contains semi-autobiographical lyrics about his heroin addiction, his recovery, born again-christianity and spiritual resurrection. With repeated references to Jesus Christ and disses" to his brethren in the gangsta-rap school, exposing the flipside of Puerto Rico's underground rap scene, in terms of the consequences of exposing young listeners to antisocial messages, it is his second christian oriented album following ''Con Poder (1996)''. Luis Armando Lozada Cruz (born September 8, 1971), known by his stage name Vico C, is an American rapper and record producer. Regarded as the founding father of reggaeton, Vico C has played an influential role in the development of Latin American hip hop and urban music. Boom Bap
Boom bap is a subgenre and music production style that was prominent in the East Coast during the golden age of hip hop from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. The term "boom bap" is an onomatopoeia that represents the sounds used for the bass (kick) drum and snare drum, respectively. The style is usually recognized by a main drum loop that uses a hard-hitting, acoustic bass drum sample on the downbeats, a snappy acoustic snare drum sample on the upbeats, and an "in your face" audio mix emphasizing the drum loop, and the kick-snare combination in particular. Alternative Reggaeton
Alternative reggaeton is a subgenre of reggaeton that emerged from the reggaeton movement as a reaction to its repetitive and monotone dembow rhythm, and the predominant stereotypical gangsta content that became predictable. The result was a complex sound derived from world sounds, mainly rooted in latin folk music such as bomba, plena, salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia, tango and also other foreign influenced music such as rock en español and latin alternative. Mixed with thoughtful (and sometimes crude) lyricism guided by an anti-colonialism discourse, Latin American sociopolitical content and racial pride, it gave listeners a smooth blend of danceable rhythms and intellectual dialogue. Christian hip hop (originally gospel rap, also known as Christian rap, gospel hip hop or holy hip hop) is a subgenre of contemporary Christian music and hip hop music. Hardcore hip hop (also hardcore rap) is a genre of hip hop music that developed through the East Coast hip hop scene in the 1980s. Gangsta Rap
Gangsta rap or gangster rap, initially called reality rap, emerged in the mid- to late 1980s as a controversial hip-hop subgenre whose lyrics assert the culture and values typical of American street gangs and street hustlers.
