Anton Weissenbacher
Anton Weissenbacher (born 20 January 1965, in Baia Mare) is a former Romanian football right back, he was part of Steaua București squad, which won the European Cup in 1986, he also played in the Intercontinental Cup final in the same year. When he left Romania, during the 90s he went to play in Germany, in an amateur league and there he finished his career. He coached several amateur teams in Germany, including SV Mehring. International career Anton Weissenbacher played one friendly game at international level for Romania, making his appearance on 8 April 1987 when coach Emerich Jenei used him in a 3–2 home victory against Israel. Baia Mare
Baia Mare ( , ; hu, Nagybánya; german: Frauenbach or Groß-Neustadt; la, Rivulus Dominarum) is a municipality along the Săsar River, in northwestern Romania; it is the capital of Maramureș County. The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga. It is the country's top football competition, being contested by 16 clubs which take part in a promotion and relegation system with the Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table. The Liga I was established in 1909 and commenced play for the 1909–10 campaign, being currently on the 29th place in UEFA's league coefficient ranking list. The 1986 Intercontinental Cup was an association football match played on 14 December 1986 between River Plate of Argentina, winners of the 1986 Copa Libertadores, and Steaua București of Romania, winners of the 1985–86 European Cup. The match was played in front of 62,000 fans at the neutral venue of the National Stadium in Tokyo. Antonio Alzamendi was named as man of the match and scored the only goal of the game in the 28th minute when he headed into the net after his initial shot had hit the post and then came back off the goalkeeper. 1985–86 European Cup
The 1985–86 European Cup was the 31st season of UEFA's premier club football tournament, the European Cup. The European Champion Clubs' Cup was won by Steaua București on penalties in the final against Barcelona. Steaua București became the first Eastern Bloc side to win the tournament. The final was decided mainly by goalkeeper Helmuth Duckadam, who (after keeping a clean sheet in the final) saved all four of Barcelona's penalties to secure the cup.
