Antichasia
Antichasia ( el, Αντιχάσια) is a forested mountain range in the northern Trikala and Larissa regional units in Thessaly, Greece. The range is part of the eastern foothills of the Pindus mountains. Its highest point is 1,424 m elevation, in the eastern part of the mountains. The Meteora rocks near Kalampaka are considered part of Antichasia. Antichasia stretches from the valley of the river Mourgkani in the west to the valley of the river Titarisios in the east. Both are tributaries of the river Pineios, which flows southwest and south of the mountains. Its length is approximately 45 km from east to west. The nearest mountains ranges are Chasia to the northwest and Kamvounia to the northeast. The vast Thessalian Plain is to the south. The mountain range gave its name to the municipal unit Antichasia in the western Larissa regional unit. Antichasia, Greece
Antichasia (, ) is a municipal unit of the Elassona municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was an independent municipality. The seat of the municipality was in Krania. The 2011 census recorded 3,584 residents in Atichasia. The municipal unit covers an area of 142.919 km2. Its name comes from the nearby Antichasia mountain. Larissa ( el, Περιφερειακή ενότητα Λάρισας) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Thessaly. Its capital is the city of Larissa. Total population 269,151 (2021). Geography Larissa is the second largest regional unit in Greece, exceeded only by Aetolia-Acarnania. It covers about one-third of Thessaly. It borders the regional units of Kozani to the northwest, Pieria to the northeast, the Aegean Sea to the east, Magnesia to the southeast, Phthiotis to the south, Karditsa to the southwest and Trikala to the west. Trikala ( el, Περιφερειακή ενότητα Τρικάλων) is one of the regional units of Greece, forming the northwestern part of the modern regions of Greece, region of Thessaly. Its capital is the town of Trikala. The regional unit includes the town of Kalampaka and the Meteora monastery complex. Chasia ( el, Χάσια) is a forested mountain range in the northern Trikala (Thessaly) and the southern Grevena (Western Macedonia) regional units, northern Greece. It is an eastern extension of the Pindus mountain range. The elevation of its highest peak, Kratsovo, is . It stretches from the village Korydallos in the west to Kerasoula in the east, over a length of about . The nearest mountains are the Antichasia to the south, the Kamvounia to the northeast and the Lygkos (northern Pindus) to the west. It is drained by tributaries of the Aliakmonas to the north, and by the Pineios and its tributary Mourgkani to the south. Koniskos (Greek: Κονισκός) is a village in the southwestern Trikala regional unit, Greece. It was the seat of the municipality of Tymfaia. In 2011 Koniskos had a population of 196 for the village and 294 for the community (including the village Kalochori). Trikala ( el, Τρίκαλα; rup, Trikolj) is a city in northwestern Thessaly, Greece, and the capital of the Trikala regional unit. The city straddles the Lithaios river, which is a tributary of Pineios. Igoumenitsa ( el, Ηγουμενίτσα, ) is a coastal city in northwestern Greece. It is the capital of the regional unit of Thesprotia. Igoumenitsa is the chief port of Thesprotia and Epirus, and one of the largest passenger ports of Greece, connecting northwestern Mainland Greece with the Ionian Islands and Italy.
