Anselmo Viviani
Anselmo Viviani (born 1915, date of death unknown) was an Italian cross-country skier who competed in the 1930s and 1940s. In 1937, in the rank of an Alpino (Soldier E-1), together in team with Tenente Giuseppe Fabre and Sergente Luigi Perenni he won Gold at the Trofeo Mezzalama race. In the same year, he finished second in the 40 km event of the Italian men's championships of cross-country skiing. A photograph showing Viviani during his participation at the ''Giro delle Dolomiti'' in Cortina d'Ampezzo demonstrates that he served in the ''IV Legione / Milizia Forestale'' in Turin in 1940. Competitive cross-country skiing encompasses a variety of race formats and course lengths. Blackshirts
The Voluntary Militia for National Security ( it, Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale, MVSN), commonly called the Blackshirts ( it, Camicie Nere, CCNN, singular: ) or (singular: ), was originally the paramilitary wing of the National Fascist Party, known as the Squadrismo, and after 1923 an all-volunteer militia of the Kingdom of Italy under Fascist rule, similar to the SA. The Club Alpino Italiano is the senior Italian alpine club which stages climbing competitions, operates alpine huts, marks and maintains paths, and is active in protecting the Alpine environment. It was founded in Turin in 1863 by the then finance minister, and mountaineer, Quintino Sella; together with the Swiss Alpine Club, founded in the same year, it is the second oldest Alpine Club in the world, only preceded by the British Alpine Club. Forestry Militia
The Forestry Militia (Italian: ''Milizia Forestale'') was the branch of the Volunteer Militia for National Security tasked with protecting and managing Italy's forestry resources and national parks, and countering poaching and other environmental crimes. It was formed in 1926, replacing the Royal Forestry Corps, and dissolved in 1948, being in turn replaced by the State Forestry Corps. The Alpini are the Italian Army's specialist mountain infantry. Part of the army's infantry corps, the speciality distinguished itself in combat during World War I and World War II. Currently the active Alpini units are organized in two operational brigades, which are subordinated to the COMALP, Alpine Troops Headquarters.
