Ann-Louise Peters
Ann Louise Peters (née Andersen; born 3 February 1975) is a former Danish darts player. Biography Peters learnt to play darts at the Gåsen club in Assens. She made her debut at the 1990 WDF Europe Youth Cup, where she won the singles three years in a row (1990, 1991, 1992); as well as the pairs in 1991 and 1992, and the team events in 1991 and 1992. She later won the Norway Open in 1993, beating Deta Hedman, and again in 1996 against Sandra Pollet. Her last major win before she stopped, was the 1999 Swedish Open where she beat Satu Ikonen from Finland. Unfortunately, she dropped the glass sculpture trophy on the floor. She has won the Danish Championships five times, in 1993, 1996, 2006, 2013 and 2014. Peters has been picked 23 times for thDanish national team which is a record for the ladies (20 as senior and 3 times as a youth player). 2014 BDO World Darts Championship
The 2014 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championship was the 37th World Championship organised by the British Darts Organisation, and the 29th staging at the Lakeside Country Club at Frimley Green. Scott Waites was the defending men's champion, having won the title for the first time in the 2013 championship, but he was defeated 0–3 in the first round by eventual runner-up Alan Norris, who in turn lost to first seed Stephen Bunting in the final. The defending women's champion was Anastasia Dobromyslova, who won her third title in 2013. She lost to the eventual champion Lisa Ashton in the semi-finals. This tournament saw the biggest field ever for a BDO World Championship. 56 players – 40 men, up from 32 in 2013, and 16 women – up from 8 in 2013 – competed for the world titles. Julie Gore
Julie Robin Gore (born 5 August 1958) is a former Welsh professional female darts player. Career Gore made her World Championship in 2008, losing in the quarter finals to Trina Gulliver. She later reached the semi finals of the Women's Winmau World Masters, beating Irina Armstrong in the quarter finals before losing to another Russian Anastasia Dobromyslova. Gore originally entered the 2009 World Championship as the number 4 seed, but following Dobromyslova's defection to the Professional Darts Corporation she was moved up to the number 3 seed. She was drawn against standby qualifier Rilana Erades of The Netherlands in the quarter finals and lost 2–1. Rachel Brooks
Rachel Brooks (born 30 September 1963, from Wroot) is an English darts player. Career Brooks started playing darts when she was 45, and now competes on the international level. In 2012, she won her first tournament, the Czech Open, and in 2013 she won the World Masters. She had many other good results that year, and qualified for the Women's World Championship in 2014 as the number five seed. Brooks lost her first-round game against Ann-Louise Peters. Deta Hedman
Deta Hedman (born 14 November 1959) is an English darts player who plays in World Darts Federation (WDF) events. Biography Hedman was born in Jamaica in 1959. Her parents emigrated to the United Kingdom in the early 1960s, leaving Hedman and her siblings in the care of relatives in Jamaica. She spent her childhood with her aunt in Castleton in a shack without running water or electricity, going to school from Monday to Thursday and working on the farm on Fridays. Her parents eventually settled in Witham, Essex and over time, brought their children to the UK, with Hedman joining them in January 1973. She started playing darts with her older brother after babysitting for him and then at the local pub in Witham and further afield in Essex. When she was 25, she joined a super league. She was selected for the county, and in 1987 she began playing in British Darts Organisation events.
