Andy Miller (record Producer)
Andy Miller is a Scottish record producer based in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland. Miller is noted for his production on albums by Mogwai, Life Without Buildings, Arab Strap, The Delgados, Scout Niblett, Songs: Ohia, Sons And Daughters, De Rosa and Desert Hearts. He is freelance, he now works at Gargleblast Studio in Hamilton, but has mainly worked at Chem19 studios over the last ten years. Having recorded many early tracks by seminal Scottish post-rock band Mogwai in the mid-1990s, he has now recorded their album '' The Hawk Is Howling'', which was released in September 2008. In 2003, Miller co-founded the Lanarkshire-based independent record label, Gargleblast Records. Founded by Miller and friend Shaun Tallamy in May that year, the aim of the label was to support, develop and release music by some of the bands Miller had recorded at Chem Nineteen Studios. Hamilton ( sco, Hamiltoun; gd, Baile Hamaltan ) is a large town in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. It serves as the main administrative centre of the South Lanarkshire council area. A reissue of the album, ''Love & Work: The Lioness Sessions'', was released on November 23, 2018. Production The album was recorded by Andy Miller at Chem 19 Studios in Glasgow, Scotland, with Alasdair Roberts, Geof Comings, Jonathan Cargill, and members of Arab Strap. ''4 Satin'' is an EP by Scottish post-rock group Mogwai, released in 1997 in the UK and the US through Chemikal Underground and Jetset respectively. Overview ''4 Satin'' is Mogwai's debut EP. It features three tracks, "Superheroes of BMX" (recorded at MCM Studios in Hamilton, Scotland, and produced by Andy Miller), "Now You're Taken" (recorded at Chamber Studio in Edinburgh, Scotland, produced by Jamie Harley, and featuring vocals by Aidan Moffat), and "Stereodee" (also recorded at MCM Studios, but produced by Paul Savage). All three tracks later appeared on the 2000 compilation album, '' EP+6''. A US mispress of ''4 Satin'' was released, where the wrong master tape was used. It features an alternative mix of "Stereodee", and otherwise-unavailable track "Guardians of Space". The track listing on the sleeve was also incorrect, although later pressings were corrected. Shrag were a British post-punk-influenced indie pop band, based in London and Brighton. The band released three albums on the Where It's at Is Where You Are label, the last a joint release on Fortuna Pop! Formation and early years Shrag's first release was the home-recorded song "Punk Grammar", which debuted on ''Under The Beach, A Heart Attack'' – a 2003 compilation album and fanzine of Brighton bands, put together by local club night It Came From The Sea, and featuring a foreword by the then Brighton-based music critic Everett True. Martin John Henry
Martin John Henry is a songwriter from Bellshill in Lanarkshire, Scotland. Henry is noted for his success as the frontman of the rock band De Rosa (band), De Rosa, who released several albums, singles and other recordings on Glasgow’s influential independent label Chemikal Underground. De Rosa's music has been critically lauded and championed by John Peel and Steve Lamacq. Kid Canaveral
Kid Canaveral was a Scottish alternative pop band that formed in St Andrews in Fife, Scotland, but are now based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Since 2007 the band have released a number of well received singles, an E.P. and an album on their own label, Straight to Video Records, and in 2011 they signed with Scottish independent label Fence Records. The band left Fence Records to join Johnny Lynch on his new label Lost Map Records in August 2013. Foxface were a Glasgow-based Scottish rock band featuring Michael Angus (vocals, guitar), John Ferguson (drums, accordion, banjo, mandolin) and Jenny Bell (bass, vocals). History Foxface started life as the solo acoustic project of Michael Angus, previously of Peeps into Fairyland. My Latest Novel are a Scottish indie band, from Greenock & Gourock. The band are signed to Bella Union records and released two albums. Background A five piece, (consisting of Chris Deveney, Gary Deveney, Paul McGeachy Laura McFarlane and Ryan King), My Latest Novel are from the small town of Greenock, near Glasgow in Scotland. They augment the traditional rock line up of guitars, drums, bass and keyboards, with the use of violins, xylophones, samples and undulating percussion, as well as multi-part vocals.
