Andrew Lewis (rugby Player)
Andrew Leighton Paul Lewis (born 13 June 1973) is a former Welsh international rugby union player who went to school at Christ College, Brecon. Lewis made 29 appearances for the national team, and spent his entire club playing career at Cardiff, firstly at Cardiff RFC and then at Cardiff Blues following the introduction of regional rugby in Wales. Lewis joined the Cardiff RFC team in 1992. He was first called up to the Wales national team in August 1995 as part of the squad for Wales' tour of South Africa. His début for Wales came in 1996 against Italy. He played his initial games for Wales as prop, but at the instigation of Wales coach Graham Henry, switched to the position of hooker. He was included in Wales' squad for the 1999 Rugby World Cup, and played in three matches as a replacement. His final appearance for Wales was as a replacement against Romania in November 2002. Swansea

1999–2000 Welsh-Scottish League
Cardiff won the inaugural Welsh-Scottish League. However they lost their final match against Swansea at home thus losing an unbeaten home record that dated back to December 1997. The points system was complicated by the Rugby World Cup and only two points were awarded for a win prior to November 1999. 1996 Heineken Cup Final
The 1996 Heineken Cup Final was the final match of the 1995–96 Heineken Cup, the inaugural season of Europe's top club rugby union competition. The match was played on 6 January 1996 at the Arms Park in Cardiff. The match was contested by Cardiff of Wales and Toulouse of France. Toulouse won the match 21–18 after extra time; they took the lead with two tries in the first 10 minutes, but the kicking of Adrian Davies kept Cardiff level. With the scores at 15–12 as the clock ticked past 80 minutes, Davies stepped up again and slotted over a penalty to take the game to extra time. Christophe Deylaud restored Toulouse's lead with another penalty shortly after the game restarted, before Davies tied the scores up again. Then, going into the final few seconds of extra time, the referee penalised Cardiff for using hands in the ruck; Deylaud slotted the resulting penalty to seal Toulouse's victory.
