Andres Allan
Andres-Allan Ellmann (born Andres-Allan Kurvits, better known by his pseudonym Andres Allan; 24 September 1965 – 22 July 1988) was an Estonian poet. Life Andres Allan was born in Tallinn. He was the younger brother of artist . He attended primary school at Tallinn Secondary School No. 7 (now, Tallinn English College) and secondary school at Tallinn Secondary School No. 2 (now, Tallinn Secondary School of Science), graduating in 1983. After secondary school, he studied at the Institute of Theology of the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church. Andres Allan wrote poetry with a mystical-religious connotation. His poems have been published in the newspaper ''Edasi'' and in the magazines ''Vikerkaar'', '' Kultuur ja Elu'', '' Looming'', ''Marm'', and ''Noorus''. He died after a fall from balcony in Tallinn in 1988, aged 22. It is uncertain whether the fall was a suicide or an accident. He was buried in Pärnamäe Cemetery in Tallinn. Robert Kurvitz
Robert Kurvitz (born 8 October 1984) is an Estonian novelist, video game designer, and musician. He was the lead designer of the 2019 video game Disco Elysium as a founding member of the ZA/UM cultural association and the eponymous video game development company that grew out of it. Kurvitz left the company in 2022. Profile Video games In 2016, Kurvitz founded the video game development company ZA/UM. ZA/UM's first game, a single-player computer roleplaying game titled ''Disco Elysium'', was released on 15 October 2019. Kurvitz was the game's lead writer and designer, having produced about half of the total in-game text (half a million words). ''Looming'' (English: ''Creation'') is the oldest literary magazine in Estonia. The headquarters is in Tallinn. History The magazine was established in 1923 by the Estonian writer Friedebert Tuglas. Its purpose was the publication and popularization of Estonian contemporary literature. Virtually all known Estonian authors have contributed to the journal. During the Soviet occupation of Estonia, ''Looming'' was controlled by the Writers' Union of the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic. ''Kultuur ja Elu'' (meaning "Culture and Life" in English) is an Estonian magazine dedicated to culture. History and profile ''Kultuur ja Elu'' has been issued since 1958.
