Andrea Farkas
Andrea Farkas (born 1 September 1969) is a former Hungarian international team handball goalkeeper who currently works as goalkeeping coach for Dunaújvárosi NKS. Among her achievements with the national team is an Olympic bronze medal from 1996 and an Olympic silver medal from 2000. As a club player her career includes victory in the EHF Champions League, as well as several national championships. Career Farkas debuted in the Hungarian national team in 1993 and played on her first major tournament two years later, winning the silver medal on the World Championship. Orsolya Herr
Orsolya Herr (born 23 November 1984) is a former Hungarian handball goalkeeper. Career Club Started to play at the age of 12, she was first selected for her hometown club Tatabányai TSC. Two years later she was signed by Hungarian giants Győri ETO KC and got an excellent opportunity to train on one of the best academies in the country. She debuted in the Hungarian championship in 2001, but her playing minutes remained limited in the forthcoming years and she was eventually loaned to Budapest Kőbányai Spartacus SC for the 2003–2004 season. After her comeback she slowly established herself as a regular, and on 23 March 2005 she won her first cap for the national team as well, when Hungary hosted Slovakia. EHF Women's Champions League
The Women's EHF Champions League is the competition for the top women's handball clubs in Europe, organised annually by the European Handball Federation (EHF). It is the most prestigious tournament for clubs, with the champions of Europe's top national leagues participating. Tournament structure Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. The first 27 nations are allowed to participate in the tournament with their national champion. Team Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The European Women's Handball Championship is the official competition for senior women's national handball teams of Europe, and takes place every two years. In addition to crowning the European champions, the tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games and World Championship. World Women's Handball Championship
The IHF Women's Handball World Championship has been organized by the International Handball Federation since 1957. European teams have won every time except 1995 where South Korea won as the first team outside Europe and 2013 where Brazil won as the first American team. The biggest winners are Russia and Norway with four titles each. Nine teams participated in the first championship, this number has grown in steps to 32 (from 2021). In 1977 a B-tournament was introduced and later in 1986 a C-tournament which served as qualification for the real championship or A-tournament.
