Andhra Kesari
''Andhra Kesari'' is a 1983 Indian Telugu-language period biographical film based on the life of Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu, the first chief minister of the newly carved out State of Andhra Pradesh in Independent India. A co-production between Vijayachander and the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It was directed, written and produced by Vijayachander. It stars Vijayachander as Panthulu and Murali Mohan as Kandukuri Veeresalingam. The film touches upon his contributions to the Simon Go Back movement. It was released on 1 November 1983, the Andhra Pradesh Formation day. There is a melodious song ''Vedamla Ghoshinche Godavari Amaradhamamla Sobhille Rajamahendri'' on the historical city Rajamundry. Vijayachander, (born Vijayachander Telidevara), is an Indian actor, director and producer, known for his works in Telugu cinema, theatre, and television. Regarded as one of the finest character actor's of Telugu cinema, Vijayachander has appeared in more than forty feature films in a variety of roles. Nandi Awards
The Nandi Awards are the awards that recognise the excellence in Telugu cinema, Telugu theatre and Telugu television, and Lifetime achievements in Indian cinema. Presented annually by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the award is named after the big granite bull at Lepakshi — a cultural and historical symbol of the Telugu people. Bhavanam Venkatarami Reddy
Bhavanam Venkatrami Reddy (18 July 1931 – 7 April 2002) was the chief minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh (AP) between February 1982 and September 1982. He was a member of the Congress party and served as cabinet minister in various AP governments. His active carrier in politics started in 1970s. He started his political career as a Youth Congress activist. From there he reached the position of Member of Legislative Assembly later became education minister in Chenna Reddy's cabinet in 1978. He also served in the cabinet of Tanguturi Anjaiah before becoming chief minister on 24 February 1982. He only served as the chief minister for a brief period, until 19 September 1982, representing Indian National Congress. He died on 7 April 2002 after brief illness. Tanguturi Anjaiah
Tanguturi Anjaiah (1919–1986) was an Indian politician who served as the 7th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from October 1980 to February 1982. He won from Ramayampet Assembly Constituency. Early life Tanguturi Anjaiah, known as T. Anjaiah, was born on August 16, 1919. His parents belonged to Bhanoor village in Medak district. Anjaiah's grandson Abhishek Reddy claimed that Anjaiah's real name was Ramakrishna Reddy, and he belonged to a Reddy caste, rather than Dalit. It is alleged the T. Anjaiah actually hails from the Munuru Kapu community and he changed his name to Ramakrishna Reddy to marry into the Reddy community in order to gain support of the Reddy community. Punyamurthula Appalaraju (20 October 1937 – 07 February 1983), better known by his stage name Raja Babu, was an Indian actor and comedian known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He is noted as one of the finest Telugu comedians. A 9 ft bronze statue of Rajababu was unveiled in his birthplace of Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh in 2012. Allu Ramalingaiah (1 October 1922 – 31 July 2004) was an Indian character actor, comedian, and producer known for his works in Telugu cinema. Kasinadhuni Nageswararao, better known as Nageswara Rao Pantulu, (1 May 1867 – 11 April 1938) was an Indian journalist, nationalist, politician, businessman, and a staunch supporter of Khaddar movement. Chilakamarti Lakshmi Narasimham (26 September 1867 – 17 June 1946) was an Indian playwright, novelist and author of short stories, who wrote in the Telugu language. He was a romanticism, romantic and a social reformer in the tradition founded by Veeresalingam. His best-known plays are probably ''Gayopakhyanam'' (1909) and Ganapati (Telugu novel), ''Ganapati'' (1920). Narasimham was visually impaired since his youth, and became blind after his graduation.
