''Ancora'' is the third studio album released by classical crossover vocal group Il Divo. The album was released in the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe on 7 November 2005, excluding the United States and Latin America. The album was later released in the United States and Latin America on 24 January 2006. It debuted at number one on the ''Billboard'' 200 on the week of releases. The album contains one song partially in Latin, one song performed in Italian, two songs performed in French, two songs performed in English, and six songs performed in Spanish, excluding the bonus track. The album features the single "I Believe in You", performed with Céline Dion, that is also featured on her international album, ''On Ne Change Pas''. This was recorded in both Sweden and London with producers Per Magnusson, David Kreuger and Steve Mac, who were also the producers of their first album. Il Divo
Il Divo (; ) are a multi-national classical crossover vocal group. The male quartet, which originated in the United Kingdom in December 2003, consists of tenors Urs Bühler, David Miller, and Sébastien Izambard. It also included baritone Carlos Marín before his death from COVID-19 in late 2021. Il Divo was created and promoted by Simon Cowell for the label Syco Music (a subsidiary of Sony Music). At first, on 23 January 2006 "I Believe in You" was released as a radio single in the United States. The commercial single was issued 1 May 2006 in France and Switzerland. It was also released as a radio single in Canada, in May 2006. Background and release Luc Plamondon, with whom Dion worked in 1991 on her '' Dion chante Plamondon'' album, wrote French lyrics for the song. There was no music video made for the song. Dion and Il Divo promoted "I Believe in You" in various French television shows, performing it in late 2005. The single peaked at number 30 in France and number 35 in Switzerland. Per Magnusson (born 30 May 1969) is a Swedish music producer and songwriter. His musical career took off in 1994 as one of the original team members of the now-legendary Cheiron Productions, meeting great international success working with Boyzone, Britney Spears, Westlife and the Backstreet Boys. It was released on 21 November 2006 in the United States and globally on 27 November 2006 by Syco Music and Columbia Records. Background According to producer Steve Mac in an interview with HitQuarters, preparation for the album would involve Simon Cowell compiling a list of around 200 potential songs. Cowell would then whittle this number down to around 40 which he then presented to Mac for consideration. Mac would then tell Cowell which of these would or would not work.
