An Der Finne
An der Finne is a ''Verbandsgemeinde'' ("collective municipality") in the Burgenlandkreis (district), in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Before the 1 July 2009 local government reform, it was a ''Verwaltungsgemeinschaft'', covering the same area, but subdivided into more municipalities. It is named after the Finne, a range of hills between Lossa and Eckartsberga. It is situated approximately 20 km west of Naumburg, and 25 km northeast of Weimar. The seat of the ''Verwaltungsgemeinschaft'' is in Bad Bibra. A Verbandsgemeinde (; plural Verbandsgemeinden) is a low-level administrative unit in the German federal states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saxony-Anhalt. A Verbandsgemeinde is typically composed of a small group of villages or towns. Rhineland-Palatinate The state of Rhineland-Palatinate is divided into 163 Verbandsgemeinden, which are municipal associations grouped within the 24 districts of the state and subdivided into 2,257 Ortsgemeinden (singular Ortsgemeinde) which comprise single settlements. Most of the Verbandsgemeinden were established in 1969. Formerly the name for an administrative unit was ''Amt''. Burgenlandkreis is a district in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Its area is . History The district was established as Landkreis Burgenland by the merger of the former Burgenlandkreis and Landkreis Weißenfels as part of the reform of 2007. On 16 July 2007, the district parliament decided to change the name to Burgenlandkreis, coming into effect on 1 August 2007. In 2015 the skeletal remains of an ancient inhabitant of Karsdorf dated from the Early Neolithic (7200 BP) were analyzed; he turned out to belong to the paternal T1a-M70 lineage and maternal lineage H1. Finne (hills)
The Finne is a ridge of hills in the German states of Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia up to and 23 km long.
