Amphi Festival
The Amphi Festival is a music festival that has been taking place since 2005 featuring a wide-ranging program for a heterogeneous audience, albeit primarily fans of alternative, electronic music, and dark music. The number of visitors to the event in 2009 was 13,000 per festival day. The first Amphi Festival took place in its namesake at the Amphitheater in Gelsenkirchen, Germany but since 2006 the Tanzbrunnen in Cologne has been the site of the two-day festival. Several bands perform both on the covered open-air stage as well as on an indoor stage. The range of artists ranges from electro and future pop to medieval rock and gothic rock. There is also a disco program in the evening as well as readings and theater productions. Medieval metal is a subgenre of folk metal that blends heavy metal music with medieval folk music. Medieval metal is mostly restricted to Germany where it is known as or . Staubkind
Staubkind is a German rock band from Berlin, founded in 2004 by Sven Louis Manke (guitarist of Terminal Choice). Initially, Staubkind was a gothic rock act with a similar sound to other German bands like Zeraphine and Dreadful Shadows. Since the release of their third album ''Staubkind'' in 2012, their sound has become more Unheilig-oriented, incorporating pop rock, indie and modern Schlager music to their sound. Psyche are a Canadian dark synthpop band, now based in Germany. They are centered on singer Darrin Huss, who has been the only constant member, with various line-ups including his brother Stephen Huss, later followed by David Kristian, Per-Anders Kurenbach, and Remi Szyszka, all recording albums with Darrin under the name Psyche. Project Pitchfork is a German dark wave, electronic rock group from Hamburg, Germany. History First years (1990–1994) Project Pitchfork was formed by Peter Spilles and Dirk Scheuber. After agreeing to work together, they picked the project's name by choosing a random word from the dictionary. The band gave their first performance in Hamburg in February 1990 and released their demo, ''K.N.K.A'', in August. In May 1991, their debut album ''Dhyani'' was released. Lacrimas Profundere is a gothic metal band from Germany. Their name means "to shed tears" in Latin. In Extremo (Latin for ''At the Edge''; abbreviated InEx or IE) is a German Medieval metal band originating from Berlin. The band's musical style combines metal with Medieval traditional songs, blending the sound of the standard rock/metal instruments with historical instruments (such as bagpipes, harp, hurdy-gurdy and shawm). Goethes Erben (Goethe's Heirs) is a musical group from Germany started in 1989 by Oswald Henke and Peter Seipt. Camouflage (band)
Camouflage is a German synth-pop trio consisting of lead singer Marcus Meyn (b. May 2, 1966), Heiko Maile and Oliver Kreyssig. Their only Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hit was "The Great Commandment (song), The Great Commandment", which reached No. 59 in early 1989, and spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Dance Club Songs chart. They also had two minor dance hits in 1989.
