''American Porn Songs'' is the sixth studio album by 16volt, released on September 8, 2009 by Metropolis Records. Reception David Jeffries of AllMusic awarded ''American Porn Songs'' three and a half out of five stars, called it the most cohesive album Eric Powell had composed and said "everything on the album sounds genuinely inspired, coming straight from Powell's ever-blackening heart as if it just needed to get out." Brutal Resonance commended the production quality and composition variety, saying "there are some tracks on this album that vary but most of the tracks follow the same line and it's a pretty straight forward album." Soundsphere Magazine gave the album four out of five stars, praised the music's energetic blend of electro and metal music and called it "a hard-hitting attack on the porn industry and its effect on those who take part." 16volt is an American industrial rock band featuring Eric Powell, with other performers added for live shows. History 16volt was formed in Portland, Oregon by composer and vocalist Eric Powell. Powell recruited musicians drummer Joel Bornzin, guitarist Jon Fell and Jeff Taylor to record "Motorskills", which debuted on ''The Cyberflesh Conspiracy'' various artist compilation by If It Moves... That band released their first full-length studio album ''Wisdom'' on May 25, 1993, after signing to Re-Constriction Records. The album received critical attention for its industrial-informed beats and abrasive electronic textures. The band continued to issue album's via Re-Constriction for the next three albums: ''Skin'' (1994), '' LetDownCrush'' (1996), and '' SuperCoolNothing'' (1998). Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). Tim Skold (born Thim Sköld) is a Swedish musician and record producer who produces solo work and has also collaborated with multiple musical groups including Shotgun Messiah, KMFDM, Marilyn Manson and Motionless in White. Biography Early life Skold grew up in Timmersdala, 21 kilometres northwest of Skövde. He has a sister named Linda. Skold grew up in a very liberal setting as the son of a 15-year-old mother named Åse and a father trying to get by as a semi-professional drummer. Chemlab is an American industrial rock band formed in Washington D.C. in 1989 by Dylan Thomas More, Joe Frank, and Jared Louche (then known as Hendrickson). Joseph Bishara (born July 26, 1970) is an American composer, music producer, and actor, best known for his work scoring films such as ''Insidious'', '' 11-11-11'', ''Dark Skies'', and ''The Conjuring''. Steve White is an English musician and former member of the industrial band KMFDM, first joining the band in 2002 for the Sturm & Drang Tour, and later appearing on several live albums/DVDs and the studio albums ''Hau Ruck'', '' Tohuvabohu'' and ''Blitz'' . Previously he was a member of PIG, the project of fellow KMFDM contributor Raymond Watts. He worked on ''Sick'' (an album of Sow) together with other members of KMFDM.
