Almavision
Almavision is an American television network broadcasting Christian programming in Spanish with affiliates across North and Central America. The network is carried via satellite on Echostar and SatMex 5, their slogan is "''Television Cristiana...a la manera de Dios. ''" ("Christian television... in God's way.") and "Comprometidos con la verdad" ("committed to the truth"). History Almavision Television began broadcasting on December 28, 2002 as VidaVision on channel 25 in Los Angeles, California. In early 2003, they learned that there was another group in Florida using that name so they changed their name to Almavision (meaning "Soul Vision"). The network was founded by Juan "Bruno" Caamano. According to Caamano, "I was praying and meditating on the Word of God when I received an instruction from the Lord to establish a television ministry". WEYS-LD, VHF digital channel 6 (virtual channel 31), is a low-powered Almavision- owned-and-operated television station licensed to Miami, Florida, United States. History As W56AZ Founded in 1979 by the board of county commissioners, it was a relay translator for PBS affiliate WPBT-TV. The station went temporarily dark in 1989 for repairs and upgrades. It returned soon thereafter, though the format remained the same until the county commissioners sold the station in 2001 to WEYS Television Corp, then an affiliate of Network One. As WEYS-LP By 2003, the call sign was changed to WEYS-LP. It was later sold to Cayo Hueso Networks, LLC. The station continued as a relay translator until it was sold once more to Almavision Hispanic Network, Inc. in 2005. KTAV-LD, virtual channel 35 ( UHF digital channel 21), is a low-powered television station licensed to Los Angeles, California, United States. The station is owned by Almavision. History KTAV-LD originally went on the air on September 23, 1992, as translator K31DN on channel 31. On April 15, 1998, the station moved to channel 68 as K68FR. On March 23, 2001, the station moved to channel 24 as K24FG. The station then changed its callsign to KTAV-LP on analog channel 69 until October 28, 2011, when the Federal Communications Commission authorized the station to convert to digital (as KTAV-LD) and move to channel 46. KHPK-LD, virtual channel 28 (VHF digital channel 10), is a low-powered BeIN Sports Xtra- affiliated television station licensed to DeSoto, Texas, United States and serving the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. The station is owned by HC2 Holdings. It is not available on Charter Spectrum or FiOS from Frontier at this time. History The station began as an independent station with the callsign K69BS on channel 69, then in 2003, it has moved its broadcasts to channel 28 and was rebranded as K28HU. In less than a month, the call letters were once again changed to KHPK named after the three principal owners (Investors) Ric Halden, Marc Pace, and Ron Knott) and it became an Urban America Television network affiliate, because these three owners were shareholders in Urban (UATV). KUVM-LD, virtual and VHF digital channel 10, is a low-powered television station serving Houston, Texas, United States that is licensed to Missouri City. The station is owned by HC2 Holdings. History The station began in 2007 on channel 10 with the call sign K10PY-D. The station converted to digital transmission in October 2009, initially running a simulcast of KHLM until that station obtained a digital signal of its own, and later replacing it with the Azteca América programming of former analog station KUVM-CA, and changing its call sign to KUVM-LD on October 9, 2009. The station's signal moved to channel 40 from the Missouri City tower farm on July 24, 2010.
