Alik Cavaliere
Alik Cavaliere (1926 – 1998) was an Italian sculptor. He spent his life researching the meaning of life, freedom, nature, and history. Atheist and libertarian since generations, he didn't believe in any preconceived, final structure of the society, the environment, or the whole universe. Neither he followed any art movements of his times, although he knew all of them and was temporarily influenced by some. He strove along his own way, narrating his perceptions with witty irony, through sculptures made up of a wide range of materials, disposed in a chaotic labyrinth which visitors are forced to traverse without being able to find a definitive point of view. Giorgio Di Genova (23 October 1933 – 25 July 2023) was an Italian art historian, critic, and curator, mostly known for being the author of '' History of Italian Art of the Twentieth Century''. Biography Giorgio Di Genova was born in Rome on 23 October 1933. He graduated in History of Art at La Sapienza University of Rome with a dissertation on Silvestro Lega. He then became a member of the Italian Communist Party, only to leave after the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. In 1975 he founded the quarterly magazine ''Third Eye'', published by Bora in Bologna, which he edited until 2006. In 1984 he was the curator of the Italian Pavilion at the 41st edition of the Venice Biennale, where he invited Antonio Bueno, Mario Padovan, and Novello Finotti to exhibit. In 1993 he was one of the organizers of the 12th Rome Quadriennale. In 1980 he was appointed Artistic Director of the National Biennial of Contemporary Art in the Province of Rieti. Arturo Schwarz
Arturo Umberto Samuele Schwarz (2 February 1924 – 23 June 2021) was an Italian scholar, art historian, poet, writer, lecturer, art consultant and curator of international art exhibitions. He lived in Milan, where he amassed a large collection of Dada and Surrealist art, including many works by personal friends such as Marcel Duchamp, André Breton, Man Ray, and Jean Arp. Biography Schwarz was born in Alexandria, Egypt from a German father and an Italian mother. In 1952 he relocated to Milan, where he opened an independent art publishing house. In 1961 Schwarz converted his place into a gallery, organising exhibitions of Dada and Surrealism artists. Enrico Crispolti
Enrico Crispolti (18 April 1933 – 8 December 2018) was an Italian art critic, curator and art historian. From 1984 to 2005, he was professor of history of contemporary art at the Università degli Studi di Siena, and director of the school of specialisation in art history. He previously taught at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome (1966–1973) and at the Università degli Studi di Salerno (1973–1984). He was author of the ''catalogues raisonnés'' of the works of Enrico Baj, Lucio Fontana and Renato Guttuso. He died in Rome on 8 December 2018.
