Alicia Fabbri
Alicia Fabbri (born February 16, 2003) is a Canadian ice dancer. With her skating partner, Paul Ayer, she is the 2019 Canadian national junior silver medalist and the 2019 Bavarian Open junior silver medalist. They placed in the top nine at the 2019 World Junior Championships. Personal life Fabbri was born on February 16, 2003, in Laval, Quebec. Outside of skating, she enjoys boating and being outdoors. Her favorite subject in school is mathematics. Career Early career Fabbri began competing with Claudio Pietrantonio in the 2014–15 season. Together, they were the 2016 Canadian national novice silver medalists. They were coached by Julien Lalonde, Mylène Girard, and Lynn McKay in La Prairie, Quebec and Saint-Hubert, Quebec. 2016–2017 season: Junior debut Fabbri/Pietrantonio opened their season with a fourth-place finish at the 2016 Lake Placid Ice Dance International. Ice Dance
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. According to the International Skating Union (ISU), the governing body of figure skating, an ice dance team consists of one woman and one man. Ice dance, like pairs skating, pair skating, has its roots in the "combined skating" developed in the 19th century by skating clubs and organizations and in recreational social skating. Lake Placid Ice Dance International
The Lake Placid Ice Dance International is an annual ice dance competition held in Lake Placid, New York. It was first held in 1932. In 2015 and 2016, the senior international event was included in the International Skating Union's calendar. The event takes place early in the season, usually in late July. Medals are awarded on the senior and junior levels. The 2021 edition of the event was held in Norwood, Massachusetts due to construction at its traditional Lake Placid site. 2014–15 Figure Skating Season
The 2014–15 figure skating season began on July 1, 2014, and ended on June 30, 2015. During this season, elite skaters competed at the ISU Championship level in the 2015 European, Four Continents, World Junior, and World Championships. Other elite events included the Grand Prix series and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating in the Grand Prix Final, and the inaugural ISU Challenger Series.
