Lake Placid Ice Dance International
The Lake Placid Ice Dance International is an annual ice dance competition held in Lake Placid, New York. It was first held in 1932. In 2015 and 2016, the senior international event was included in the International Skating Union's calendar. The event takes place early in the season, usually in late July. Medals are awarded on the senior and junior levels. The 2021 edition of the event was held in Norwood, Massachusetts due to construction at its traditional Lake Placid site. Ice Dance
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. According to the International Skating Union (ISU), the governing body of figure skating, an ice dance team consists of one woman and one man. Ice dance, like pairs skating, pair skating, has its roots in the "combined skating" developed in the 19th century by skating clubs and organizations and in recreational social skating. Couples and friends would skate waltzes, marches, and other social dances. The first steps in ice dance were similar to those used in ballroom dancing. Rachel Parsons (figure Skater)
Rachel Marie Parsons (born November 19, 1997) is an American former competitive ice dancer. With her brother Michael Parsons, she is the 2018 NHK Trophy bronze medalist and a four-time silver medalist on the ISU Challenger Series ( 2018 CS Asian Open, 2018 CS Nebelhorn Trophy, 2018 CS Lombardia Trophy, 2017 CS Ondrej Nepela Memorial). Logan Bye (born March 2, 1998) is an American ice dancer. With his skating partner and fiancée, Eva Pate, he is a two-time ISU Challenger Series silver medalist. With former partner Chloe Lewis, he is the 2016 Youth Olympic silver medalist, 2016 JGP Estonia bronze medalist, and 2018 U.S. junior national bronze medalist. Yehor Yehorov
Yehor Yehorov ( uk, Єгор Єгоров; born August 17, 1999) is a Ukrainian-born ice dancer. Competing for the United States with his skating partner, Molly Cesanek, he is the 2021 Lake Placid Ice Dance International bronze medalist and has competed on the Grand Prix series. Personal life Yehorov was born August 17, 1999, in Brovary, Ukraine. He moved to the United States in 2018. Molly Cesanek (born March 2, 2001) is an American ice dancer. With her skating partner, Yehor Yehorov, she is the 2021 Lake Placid Ice Dance International bronze medalist and has competed on the Grand Prix series. Personal life Cesanek was born in Manassas, Virginia, and was raised in Warrenton, Virginia. She began taking ballet lessons at age three. Tina Garabedian ( hy, Թինա Կարապետյան; born June 13, 1997) is a retired Armenian-Canadian ice dancer. She and her partner Simon Proulx-Sénécal represented Armenia at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
