Alférez FAP David Figueroa Fernandini Airport is an airport serving Huánuco, Peru. It is the most important airport in the Huánuco Region and is operated by the civil government. It is currently served by 3 airlines, with all of them offering daily flights to Lima: ATSA Airlines, ATSA, Star Perú and Wayraperú. Huánuco
Huánuco (; qu, Wanuku) is a city in central Peru. It had a population of 196,627 as of 2017 and in 2015 it had a population of 175,068. It is the capital of the Huánuco Region and the Huánuco District. It is the seat of the diocese of Huánuco. The metropolitan city of Huanuco is 170,000 hab (2011, urban pop, INEI). Aerolíneas Star Perú S.A. is a Peruvian airline based at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, Peru. It operates both passenger and cargo flights within Peru. The carrier mostly flies domestic routes in Peru from its base in Lima, as well as to Puerto Ayora, in Ecuador. Wayraperú
Wayraperú is a Peruvian airline based at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima Peru, that operated between March and November 2006, then again since May 2018. In January 2018 the carrier announced the intention to recommence services. Currently, Wayraperú only offers charter services. History Early operations At the end of 2004, the news of the creation of an airline was announced to the media. Wayraperú was the result of the joint venture between the Brazilian company OceanAir and Fondo de Inversiones Sustentables, run by entrepreneur Pedro Koechlin. At its peak the airline operated to 14 destinations, with three Fokker 100s for American Airlines. On March 20, 2006, it formally began operations, inaugurating from Lima to Arequipa. Huallaga River
The Huallaga River is a tributary of the Marañón River, part of the Amazon Basin. Old names for this river include ''Guallaga'' and ''Rio de los Motilones''. The Huallaga is born on the slopes of the Andes in central Peru and joins the Marañón before the latter reaches the Ucayali River to form the Amazon. Its main affluents are the Monzón, Mayo, Biabo, Abiseo and Tocache rivers. Coca is grown in most of those valleys, which are also exposed to periodic floods. Description Although it runs for 700 miles (1,100 km), it remains unnavigable for the most part. For nearly its entire length the Huallaga is an impetuous torrent running through a succession of gorges. A non-directional beacon (NDB) or non-directional radio beacon is a radio beacon which does not include directional information. Radio beacons are radio transmitters at a known location, used as an aviation or marine navigational aid. NDB are in contrast to directional radio beacons and other navigational aids, such as low-frequency radio range, VHF omnidirectional range (VOR) and tactical air navigation system (TACAN). Jorge Chávez International Airport (Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez) is Peru's main international and domestic airport.
