Alexander Knappe
Alexander Knappe (born 1 March 1989) is a German professional golfer. Knappe was born in Brilon, Germany. He played one year of college golf at Texas Christian University. Knappe turned professional in 2011 and has played on the Pro Golf Tour, Challenge Tour and Sunshine Tour. He has won three times on the Pro Golf Tour and four times on the Challenge Tour. Brilon (; Westphalian: ''Brailen'') is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, central Germany, that belongs to the Hochsauerlandkreis. 2022 Challenge Tour
The 2022 Challenge Tour is a series of professional golf tournaments collectively known as the Challenge Tour. The Challenge Tour is Europe's official developmental tour and is organised by the PGA European Tour. It was introduced in 1986 and was originally called the Satellite Tour, before being renamed with its present title in 1990. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2022 season. 2008 Eisenhower Trophy
The 2008 Eisenhower Trophy took place 16–19 October at Royal Adelaide Golf Club and on the West course at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia. It was the 26th World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy and the second to be held in Australia. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 65 three-man teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Each team played two rounds on the two courses. The leading teams played at The Grange Golf Club on the third day and at Royal Adelaide Golf Club on the final day. Scotland won their first Eisenhower Trophy, nine strokes ahead of the United States, who took the silver medal. Sweden took the bronze medal while France and Italy tied for fourth place. Eisenhower Trophy
The Eisenhower Trophy (World Men's Amateur Team Championships) is the biennial World Amateur Team Championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. Since the tournament was first played in 1958, it is named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States at the time, who was a keen amateur golfer. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy. Results The 1958 championship resulted in a tie. There was an 18-hole playoff which Australia won with a score of 222 to the United States 224. From 1958 to 2000 the teams had four players with the best three scores counting for each round. From 2002 the teams have been three players with two counting. The 2004, 2010 and 2012 championships were reduced to 54 holes because of bad weather. European Boys' Team Championship
The European Boys' Team Championship (Jean-Louis Dupont Trophy) is a European amateur team golf championship for men up to 18 organized by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1980 and it has been played annually since. Since the European Youths' Team Championship, for men under 22, was discontinued in 2006, due to the trend of players reaching elite level at an earlier age, the European Boys' Team Championship has been regarded as the most important junior team event in Europe outside the British Isles. Many European players on the world's leading professional golf tours have played in the event during their early careers. Reinier Saxton
Reinier Saxton (born 10 February 1988) is a Dutch professional golfer. Saxton was born in Amstelveen, the son of Jonas Saxton, who used to play on the Challenge Tour and who is now a coach at the Dutch Federation and one of the founders of The Dutch golf course. Amateur career Saxton had a successful amateur career, At the age of 15, he won the National Championship Matchplay for the first of five times. He won The Amateur Championship at Turnberry in 2008, the second Dutchman to do so after Rolf Muntz in 1990 at Muirfield. He played the next Open Championship and the Masters Tournament, and won the Spanish Amateur in Sevilla in 2009. José-Filipe Lima (born Philippe Lima; November 26, 1981) is a Portuguese professional golfer. He won the 2004 Aa St Omer Open to gain a place on the European Tour. His best seasons were from 2005 to 2007 when he finished in the top-100 on the European Tour Order of Merit. Successful Challenge Tour seasons in 2009, 2013 and 2016 have promoted him back to the European Tour but, on each occasion he has failed to retain his place on the tour.
