He was a Jewish convert to Christianity. Crescenzi became celebrated on account of his report, which he edited with mathematical notes, on the 1660 eruption of Mount Vesuvius. He also translated the ''Tradado de Chocolate'' ("Treatise on Chocolate") of Antonio Colmener de Ledesma from Spanish into Italian, published in Rome in 1667 with notes by Alexander Vitrioli. Conversion to Christianity is the religious conversion of a previously non-Christian person to Christianity. Different Christian denominations may perform various different kinds of rituals or ceremonies initiation into their community of believers. Mount Vesuvius ( ; it, Vesuvio ; nap, 'O Vesuvio , also or ; la, Vesuvius , also , or ) is a somma-stratovolcano located on the Gulf of Naples in Campania, Italy, about east of Naples and a short distance from the shore. It is one of several volcanoes forming the Campanian volcanic arc.
