Alex Young (born September 1, 1994) is an American athlete who competes predominantly in the hammer throw. Professional Alex Young tells his story in November 2022 to Coach Joe Frontier about moving multiple times to find the best training group, working 2 jobs to earn enough money and persevering to live his dream as a professional athlete. He has represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics and finished twelfth in Eugene, Oregon at the 2022 World Athletics Championships. Young has represented his country competing in the 2013 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships in Colombia and at the 2016 NACAC U23 Championships in El Salvador. He also competed at the 2016 Olympic Trials prior to competing in the 2017 World Championships in which he finished 20th and 2022 World Championships where Young placed 12th in the final. Alexander Edward Young (born September 9, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball for Texas Christian University (TCU), and was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the second round of the 2015 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2019 with the Diamondbacks, and has also played in MLB for the Cleveland Indians / Guardians and San Francisco Giants. Amateur career Young attended Carmel High School in Mundelein, Illinois. As a senior he was 7-1 and in 41 innings allowed 13 hits while striking out 71 batters, and was named a 2012 Louisville Slugger first-team All-American and the conference Player of the Year. Alex Young (born October 17, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for Sharjah of the UAE National Basketball League. He played college basketball for the IUPUI Jaguars before playing professionally in Italy, Israel, France, Russia and China. Early life and college career Young attended Northwest High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he was the 2008 Indianapolis City and Indianapolis Public Schools Player of the Year. Young averaged 18.6 points and 13.7 rebounds per game as a senior, ranking third in the state in rebounding, shooting 52.7 percent from the floor and 34.3 percent from three-point range in his final season. Alexander Simpson Young (23 June 1880 – 17 September 1959) was a Scottish professional footballer who played for St Mirren, Falkirk, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, South Liverpool and represented Scotland at international level. Football career He is the all-time fourth highest scorer for English club Everton and scored the only goal to win the 1906 FA Cup Final. Some attribute to him a total of 110 league goals for Everton, which would put him in second spot behind Dixie Dean. He was also the Football League's top scorer in 1906–07. In 1911 he moved South to London and joined Tottenham Hotspur. Young scored on his ''Lilywhites'' debut in a 2-2 draw against his old club Everton at Goodison Park in September 1911 in the old First Division. Alexander Young (3 February 1937 – 27 February 2017) was a Scottish international footballer. He played as a creative forward for Heart of Midlothian and Everton. He won league championship and cup titles with both clubs where he was also a regular goal scorer. Young later played for Glentoran and Stockport County. Internationally he played for the Scottish League and the Scotland national football team. In football folklore he has become known as 'The Golden Vision'. Alexander Charles Yoong Loong (; born 20 July 1976), is a Malaysian professional racing driver of Chinese and English parentage. Yoong began his career in saloon cars before moving into the Proton one-make series. He later raced in single-seater cars where he won the Malaysian Championship in 1995. He moved into Formula Renault in 1996 with help from sponsors but finished outside the top-10. Yoong consulted his father, who believed his son would succeed in lower categories. Yoong decided to drive in Formula Three but dropped out in 1999 after withdrawal from his sponsors. Alexander Young (20 October 1925 – 2 March 2010) was a Scottish footballer and coach. He played at centre-half for the league-winning Aberdeen team of 1954–55, and was inducted into the Aberdeen FC "Hall of Fame" as one of the founding members in 2003. Playing career Young began his playing career in junior football in the West of Scotland, playing for Kilsyth Rangers and Blantyre Victoria – with whom he won a Scottish Junior Cup in 1950 – before signing for Aberdeen at the relatively late age of 24.
