Alex Menglet, born ''Alexei Menglet'' in Moscow USSR in 1956, is an actor who has found success working in Australia. Career Menglet is best known for his roles as chef Ray "Gay Ray" Proctor in the 1984 season of ''Prisoner'' and more recently as Zoran Baranoff in the SBS series ''Kick''. He has also appeared on Australian television series, ''Skyways'', ''The Sullivans'', ''Cop Shop'' and ''Carson's Law''.TV Week, 18 August 1984, p.86 His latest role was in the UK.TV mini-series ''False Witness''. ''The Still Point'' is a 1986 Australian film directed by Barbara Boyd-Anderson. Sarah (Nadine Garner), a 15-year-old girl with a hearing impairment, is trying to emerge from the sheltered world her mother has created for her. ''Wentworth'' is an Australian television drama series. It was first broadcast on SoHo on 1 May 2013 and it concluded on Fox Showcase with its 100th episode on 26 October 2021. The series serves as a contemporary reimagining of ''Prisoner'', which ran on Network Ten from 1979 to 1986. Lara Radulovich and David Hannam developed ''Wentworth'' from Reg Watson's original concept. The series is set in the modern day and initially focuses on Bea Smith's ( Danielle Cormack) early days in prison and her subsequent rise to the top of the prison's hierarchy. From the fifth season onward, the series shifted to emphasize more of an ensemble format. Joan Ferguson is a fictional character in the Australian television series ''Wentworth,'' who serves as the main antagonist from season two to season five. Joan is portrayed by actress Pamela Rabe. ''He Died with a Felafel in His Hand'' is a purportedly non-fiction autobiographical novel by Australian author John Birmingham about his experiences as a share housing tenant, first published in 1994 by The Yellow Press (). The story consists of a collection of colourful anecdotes about living in share houses in Brisbane and other cities in Australia with variously dubious housemates. The title refers to a deceased heroin addict found in one such house. The book was subsequently adapted into the longest running stage play in Australian history and, in 2001, was made into a film by Richard Lowenstein, starring Noah Taylor, Emily Hamilton and Sophie Lee. A sequel, '' The Tasmanian Babes Fiasco'', was published in 1998.
